SR 240 car won't crank, electronics work fine

So in my sr swapped 240 when I turn the key all my electronics work perfectly but there is zero response from the starter. Sometimes it will crank first try and work fine, sometimes after five minutes it will crank and then start fine

Could it mean i need a new starter?

This all started after I relocated my battery to the back and got a new cheap schucks battery.

Please help :[

Could a loose connection still be strong enough to power all the electronics but not strong enough to even make the starter respond at all?

So while cranking now I can hear a click (from solenoid I believe) but no activation of the starter at all.

I think I need a new starter

There is a very small wire that clip on the starter on the top side toward back of bottom of intake manifold.

Mine came off before and I thought I needed a starter but found it was just that wire had come unclipped. It slides onto a metal prong.

If that wire is connected have someone tap the starter with a hammer while u crank it over..

This has been happening for months though, would that still happen with the wire unclipped?

No, I just read your first post, didnt know it was happening over and over.

My ka use to do what you desribed and finally the starter went out, but within a few months.

I would check all your connections like someone above said, and if it still gives you problems it is probably the starter..

also would like to add that a weak battery will do this too. happened to my 4runner before. It had enough juice to power my electronics but not enough to crank over the motor. I thought it was the starter solenoid going out but I bought a new battery and everything was fine. I know you said the battery is new but you also said it sucked. Does it put out enough cranking amps?

I honestly have no clue and that is what has always been on my mind, it was the cheapest schucks battery they had because we were working our asses off to get my car running again and had limited cash.

First thing I'm gonna do is get the battery tested, if it's the problem ill just buy a new nice one since I have money now.

EDIT: Just went outside and tried to start it, first two times nothing happened on key turn, third time started just fine. Pretty sure its the battery

This sounds more like a flaky connection than a battery issue. Lol, if the battery was toast it wouldn't work intermittently.

I was just thinking low cranking amps, I don't know really.

I'm gonna go over all connections and rewrap them, and also resand my ground where it goes to the chassis
