No, it was just a really tight fit I guess. I finally got it in. Disconnected the front U-Joint and got the yoke in first. Then I connected the rest of the driveshaft.

Micro-update:

Well, haven't been able to do much on the car due to school and work.

Couple of things I have done, though:

Mounted my catch can, next is tubing for the valve cover vents. What kind of hose to use?

Started wiring up the engine, still a ways to go

Pic of driveshaft (and a lot of grease...)

Good luck with that wiring. Make sure you run it through the bay! You know I learned that the hard way...

Maybe the state you live is different but, what did your pops (a cop) have to say about the sr20 that was in your 240?

Haven't done anything today but here's some pictures of the wiring disaster I fixed up about a week ago. It was an alarm and remote unlock system:

Build is looking sick so far! Glad to see you didn't go with the mainstream LS swap like everyone who wants cheap torque does. Can't wait to see how this progresses!

Thanks, man. I hope to supercharge it, hopefully in the next year, before 2015. I saw an S14 with a VH45 in it, and it had a roots supercharger. Here's a pic:

I like the roots superchargers alot more than a Centrifugal like gsracer has.

That looks sick, too bad everyone who sees it will assume its got an LS in it haha. But roots type is 100000000X better for sure. or you could always have a set of twin snails popping through the hood

Thanks, it's actually been a lot easier than working on my SR, which is crazy. It's simpler since it's N/A anyway.

Thanks, we thought the ECU placement was genius! Yes, wiring is the worst part, that's why I had someone make a conversion harness for me.

Well tonight I got the VH in her final resting place. It was bothering me that the Xcessive mounts make the engine tilt towards the passenger side. So I fixed that. Tip: For anyone that wants to do the same, I got it where I could fit the bolts for the engine mounts in, (passenger side goes in bottom hole in mount, driver's side goes in mount's top hole!) then I hooked a small chain on an exhaust stud (on the passenger side) then pulled up from the chain with my hoist. Brought it right up and I tightened both mount bolts.

Engine:

Shifter placement:

I also got my S13 throttle cable to work with the VH's throttle cable brackets. All I did was hammer the bracket forward and it works perfectly!

Small update!

I got my catch can plumbing finished, as well as my overflow tank installed, just need a radiator to hook it to!

I also finally received my clutch line:

How she sits now:

Should be going to get headers/exhaust made up hopefully this week! Then all I need is a radiator to start her up.

This build is so awesome. I'm excited to finally see a VH 240 in Minnesota again.

No, I'm having a friend make me custom headers. $600 for headers is ridiculous and they barely fit with Xcessive mounts anyway.

yeah, I wouldn't spend the money on headers for any v8 swap if you have a buddy that can fabricate them for you. my buddies doing both my headers and y-pipe.

I always debated back and forth between VH and VQ, I finally decided VQ, but I'm interested to see what yours does on E85!

Yeah I'm excited. My friend Jason is doing my headers/exhaust and he said he's going to be pouring cement for his basement so he won't be able to do it for at least a week. Oh well, it'll give me time to get a radiator anyway.
