speedometer wont work

ive searched threads over and over again and still cant figure out what exactly is wrong...

the car is a redtop sr swapped 92 s13 that was originally automatic, wiring harness was sent out to yury to be wired.

lower wiring harness is hooked up to all sensors

the speedometer refuses to work, it reads nothing, im stumped as to what it could be...i apologize for posting yet another speedometer question but i cant figure it out even after looking at countless threads

thank you.

as above check to see if your speed sensor is sending a signal. it might be faulty. i don't know if it's the same on an sr tranny because i don't have one - yet, but it might be the same as checking it on a ka m/t s13 like below.

SR

This is what you need to to first.

1.Check your speed sensor per the FSM.

If that doesn't work check all your connections related to the speed sensor. It doesn't matter who made your wiring hardness. Mistakes happen. Just test for continuity. It shouldn't take you more that 30min. less if you are really familiar with schematics and electronics.

If nothing works let me know what you can find out.

The speedo itself could be broken. Swap out with a known good if possible.

The stock auto speed sensor does not fit. Its bigger than the m/t one.

I know, that cost me an extra week and a half on my five speed swap.

I had this same problem before. The speedometer itself crapped out, I picked up another one at the junkyard. Hope this helps.

like i said on somebody's thread too.. check your speed sensor pinion.. coz mine did the same thing, i changed out the speed sensor, but still didnt fix the problem. then i found out that my pinion gear was worn out. got that changed, so, now my speedo is fixed
