92 Hatch with a Ka swap from a s14.

Issue. Brake light and cigerette lighter stays on after the car has been turned off and key removed.


How it happened.

Our first local Drift Day was March 5th. I think it was towards the end of the day. I just got off track, got out and checked my tires, got back in and seen smoke coming from where the ash tray would be (not there for cup holding)
noticed the wire to the ebarke is so hot its melting its coating. i panic and rip on the wire off in fear it would burn my car down. Now when i shut off the car the brake light stays on and so does my cigerette light/phone charger is plugged in and it has a light showing it has power.

To keep my battery from slowly draining i unplug it. lights go off. and stay off if i put the cable back on until i turn the key over. also the brake light isnt on when i am driving.

Is the ebrake wire a hot wire or a ground? becuase when i ground it, it sparks.

i thought i ask on here for thoughts. im going to start tracing the wire after work.

for the older guys on here.....i did search.....all that was found was switch issues and low brake fluid.

never had a issue with brake light before
