that was var driving the pink 240sx. he only slightly nicked his fenders, it was more of a snapped tie rod and steering rack failure.
a supra hit a wall and messed up his hood |

I was there with Sil40 til around 1 or 2pm. We spectated, but I don't think I'll be going to another event like this unless I'm driving...
I thought NZO, blue S14.5, stickered-up white coupe, pink hatch, and a couple others did a really good job today. I found a bunch of pics here.

That was a really fun event even though we left early. I didnt get to drive this time around, but I got to sit shotty in my friend's ride and it was a good time. Here are some pics.
Whats funny is I found a picture of me taking that last picture on the SRO site. Favorite pic is the S14.5 vs SC Levin

its a funny story, I actually bought those fenders off of a guy on zilvia.
When i recieved them they were broken from shipping. So Bobby and i worked on each fender for like 8 hours. Fiberglassing, bondo, etc. They still dont fit that great, but they look decent enough. I did make a few brackets to make the lights fit better. It you are planning on doing the conversion i would be happy to help you. Let me know. Luke

I might someday. At the moment I'm enjoying the great mileage of my bike, and waiting on a real job for a car (undoubtedly a 240SX). The thing is I really think the S14.5 conversion needs a widebody rear-end so the lines flow, since the Strawberry lights draw your eye outward, and the S14's lines just end (as opposed to the S15 which has very sexy hip-like rear fenders IMO). As it is, I'd want it done right, which means lots of work on my part. If I do it soon I'll let u know for certain. Thanx.

Blah I did really shitty and I have plenty of excuses! Its always fun to hang with friends though so at least its not a complete loss.
On a sidenote whoever decided it would be a good idea to have a drift event there needs to get their head checked. The track was ok but the skidpad/S-Turn was total shit. I didnt see a single person complete a clean run on that all day. Maybe it just happened when I blinked...

The skidpad/s-turn had loose crap on it and you had to cross dirt and gravel to get the the skidpad. But over all I had fun, I guess i'm an outcast cause my a$$ kissed the wall.

I just woke up from my nap since I arrived back at home from the event.
It was my first drift event that I've been to and I'd have to say it was pretty cool. Even though I didn't enter (no money, helmet, or tires)... the competition was probably the most fun! jaae86 was great. go jeff! |

That was my first ever drift competition and I had a great time! Especially when you're in the finals with your best buddies. I was really nervous before we started the qualifying and just keep it together after that. =)
Although the small course was indeed rough and really bumpy, it was a chance for me to learn how to control my slide in these kind of conditions.

It was my first event but I had a really great time. I didn't mind the track much....but the gravel on the skid pad scraped the bottom of my bumper and the lip
I'll definitely go again if: -They redo the pavement on the skidpad, the ditches really sucked and so did the loose gravel as i mentioned earlier. I think in my sig you can sort of see a lil ditch at the bottom right corner -The ditch that i really hated was the one on the first turn on the actual track; I noticed a lot of people hitting it and making their car jump I'd try hard to avoid it but that made me run into the grass sometimes. Anyway, i liked the event overall. Like everyone else said, the beginning was confusing. But after everyone got the idea of what was going on, things were flowing pretty smoothly. |

I believe the 350z crashed as well. The Supra that crashed really messed up the left part of his front end, and scraped (not sure if dented) the left quarter panel.
A hachi also hit the passenger side quarter panel |

It was cool. I don't think I'd seen a actual drift competition in NorCal before now.
Makes me really want to drive my car!

I had a great time at the NCDA event. I agree that the short course was sucky. I couldn't get anything going on it. And throughout the day the pavement just got worse. The big track however, was soooo much fun. Especially during the competition where the opened up the big oval and the back straight. I tried a few manji's on it but it's a bit intimidating going 75MPH next to a wall. And tandem drifting is a blast. I'm happy I made it as far as I did. I got a little too pumped up and kept spinning on the 3rd gear sweeper. Congratulations to everyone that competed and just showed up to drift. I could see everyone improving through out the day. I think I was in the Best 8. I was in the white FC.
