Diggin the car man!

I'm also burned out on the whole drifting/slam your car on its nuts thing...I don't want a steep driveway to be my car's biggest feat, but rather a lap time, etc..

TONS haha.. I have 1.5* of camber at all four corners. 17x8.5+22 and 17x9.5+30 really pushes em out.... Then with the 255/45 in the front and the275/40 in the rear.. I really use up all the room I have.

My fenders are rolled pretty hard too....

In the rear, on the passenger side, I am a c&%$ hair away from rubbing some stuff in the back of the wheel well on the inside, and obviously am still really close to my rolled fender.

I want rubber, and traction.. so I chose lots of meat and lots of travel, thus I need a little bit of room for the wheels to articulate. The front coilovers are MAXED out low... I even had to remove one of the lock rings on the passenger side, just to get it as low as the driver.

Thank you! Having previously done a swap that I wired myself, I really appreciate having the wiring specialties harness on this. Not that It was hard to wire my other one, but I love that all of my clips are fresh and easy to work with. No dry, brittle stuff to break.

Thanks again! I may shoot you an email. I've been seeing your job posting.

Don't know if it has already been said, but you should verify the injector color. That's definitely a kouki S14 head, which leads me to believe it is an s14 motor. Nice built though

^^They do engine swaps in Japan too. Very possible they changed the head or even replaced the motor before it became a half cut.

Oh, absolutely. But It does have the correct injectors. Came from a low mileage clip, 6 Speed and all.

What would be the tell tale sign of a head swap

Sooo.....

My car has a dragging noise when the clutch is depressed. It used to only do it when it was cold in the mornings, now it does it all the time, even after the car is warm. Shifting is getting difficult as well.

I haven't been driving the car, just to ensure I have the best chance of mitigating any damage. I'm wondering if it could be something simple like air in the clutch master cylinder or even a new one... The car has a Spec 6 puck and a resurfaced OEM s14 flywheel. I'm hoping the flywheel was machined properly.

I sort of feared it was low on fluid perhaps, and I added some as my first attempt at getting lucky, but that didn't seem to help.

Do you have the new style SPEC throw out bearing? The old style had issues often but the new style seemed to have fixed the issue.

The clutch was installed by the previous owner earlier this year, do you happen to know when they phased the old style out? The type of problem I'm having is similar to a bad throw out. ... it is very low mileage though. .. only about 5,000

Not directly, but it went away with new tie rod end, poly steering rack bushings, and voodoo13 tension rods. ..

I installed all of that, plus new coilovers, wheels, and tires at the same time. ..

Not sure Brian but I would give them a shout if you want to keep using the SPEC. Everyone I know running one and has upgraded to the solid hub has had no issues. I would say 80% of people using the older style has had similar issues.

The issue happened to some people at under 1k miles..,,,something about the hydraulics for the old throw out bearing hub not working properly.

Well, it's been a while...

Right now, I'm in the process of dropping my transmission.. it's ready to fall out.. just hung up on the tunnel. Im suspecting my less than 4k mile Spec Throwout Bearing is toasted.... I will replace it with an OEM Nissan unit if that's indeed the case....

Drop (NOT remove) the front subframe to give you enough clearance.

I have a S14 as well, and just clearance the Tunnel, before re-install of the gearbox, with a BFH.

Also, make sure the clutch alignment tool actually works correctly. The plastic one i got from Clutchmasters was rubbish and had me struggling to refit the gearbox before realizing the clutch disk itself was out of place. You may have to install, test fit and remove (inclusive of gearbox) a few times if so (just make sure NOT to fubar the pilot bushing. I luckily had several).
