When I first got the car, it had a Greddy T518Z turbo on it. S15 Spec R engine with 550cc injectors with a rom tune. Changed the injectors to 850cc SARDs and PFC, figured turbo was pushing close to 350hp. Compared to my GT2871R in the states, setup wasnt smooth compared to it. GT2871Rs has a more linear power band, T518Z was more like an on/off switch.
The beauty of the Mitsubishi turbos are that they're rebuildable. $80 for the rebuild kits. I know a couple of folks out here who run Mitsu turbos. With the 20G, one guy made about 380-390 hp and 2 guys were running 25Gs. One made 460hp and the other was at 485hp. |

1. s13/s14 Hybrid SR20DET
2. Engine Spec list:HERE 3. FP TD06SL2 20G 4. Nismo 740cc / 300zxtt fuel pump 5. Tuned 6. Nistune Due to, what we believe is, a problem with the actuator opening prematurely, my graph looks to be that of an N/A platform. The car spooled slowly and ended up spiking to around 17psi with no boost controller (using the 1bar actuator provided with the turbo). These are the results. I'm currently in the process of figuring out why its spooling so slow...

381 whp with shitty compression with a TD06-20G @1.2bar on Inertial Dynos
S14 Engine, Power FC D-jetro, 850cc's NISMO FP TD-06SH 25G at 1.5 bar Tomei 270 with 12.5mm lift, solid lifters, port&polished, Double vavle springs, Crappy Greddy 2 core FMIC, 60mm throttle body, Greddy Surge tank, Sard FPR Couldnt find any TD05-18Gs on ZY, I had a Greddy T518Z that was basically an 18G. Comparing it to my GT2871R in the states, they were putting down about the same power (roughly 350whp). Only difference between the 2 was the power delivery. GT2871s, power came in more linear/smoothly. T518Z, it was more like an on/off switch. Nothing before 3.5k-4k, then full boost of fury that I'd loose traction like crazy. I wouldnt recommend it for drifting since itll just make you spin out when the power gets there. |

will the Greddy T518Z TD05 18G 10CM turbo bolt right on re-using the oil feed and oil return line/pipe from my GT2871R? Or will i have to piece Banjo bolts or fittings to make it work?

You know what, it makes more sense for people to buy evo8-9 turbo's because you could get the turbo for about $250 bucks on the evolutionm forum and make the same power as a gt2871r for a fraction of the price. just purchase the flanges that are really cheap to get and have some one weld you a kit.
@TS i think you will prolly be better off pieceing it togeather from a hardware store that sells that stuff.

I installed the (rebuilt) turbo, and after being mis informed by the seller of the turbo, the S14/s15 return line didn't work. I ended up having to use the Mitubishi return line, after he insisted that the OEM nissan ones we're compatible. Long story short im stuck with a turbo with no shaft play and but smoking under boost. I used the Gt2871R line but with a 10 x 1.25 banjo bolt and banjo fitting. This is horrible, made me wish i just bought a new GT2871R then would have bought this. By the way thanks for responding guys.

1. S13sr with RAS
2. Pretty stock with circuit sport spark ignition 3. 18g @ 1.2bar 4. 555cc Tomei injectors / walbro 255 fuel pump 5. Tuned... 6. Enthalpy rom tune / bee*r ignition cut No issues or complaints at all. 105 octane is a must for hot track days. Aside from that, power is awesome and my car has been extremely reliable.

Some side to side play is normal. You shouldn't have any in and out though.

Nice job. E85 makes such a difference. You must be just about maxing those 1000's out at that power. Time for 1300's and 30psi.

Has anybody ever ran a Greddy TD06 20g 8cm on the stock manifold with t2 turbine housing? Thinking of doing this to go back to a stock manifold setup. I hear a rumor that the 20g on a t2 turbine housing would restrict it's capability by about 50hp but idk about that since the stock manifold is proven to support 400+hp, which is the upper limit of a 20g.

made 380hp 18psi on 93 on a Greddy 18g 8cm T2 with custom 38mm external gate megan manifold for a fact i know it should make more on E85
scraped the idea and went twin scroll GTX 3076R after oil seals on 18g went out. i still have the kit just laying until i rebuild the turbo.

Okay cool. So since I don't even want over 400hp it's definitely capable with the T2 housing. Now i'll have a greddy 3 bolt, t3, and t2 housing for the same turbo haha.
