zo6 ls1 in a 240sx?
Hey guy I was wondering about how to tell if my car has an lsd in it buy looking at the vin or some other special feature on the car. The car is a 1996 se 240. And what gear ratio am I looking at in the rear end? I am dropping a zo6 vette motor into the car in two weeks. We did the math and the ls1 weighs 20-30 lbs. More than the stock motor and trans. I have the motor trans and every thing else. I am sure other people have done this swap. If any one has any info or pics of the ls1’s in 1995’s and up hook me up. I have some pars for sale for the 1995- and up cars so let me know. Thanks Jeffrey g

I think you better put a wheelie bar on the car too and a parachute that would be cool, oh yeah and a "BADASS BOWTIE" decal would also spruce it up. If you are serious good luck.

If you got a "zo6" ls1 for your 240, I'm sure your would have seen pics of a ls1 in a 240 rather then requesting pics. I call BS until further proof.

Jack the car up and spin the tires. Either way though, i dont think that rear end wont handle 405+ WHP and TQ. THew rear gears are 4.08 's and like everyone else said, if your serious, good luck, and keep us updated.

Ok guys I got the motor for $2700, only because I know lots of people. I am going to be using a 700r automatic traney, and a b&m pro stick. The drive shaft we figured will cost about $150 to make. Getting the car wired will cost me $300. I plan on using edit ls1 for my computer program to fix any small check engine lights and if I plan to use turbos or nitrous. Yea I am very serious about doing this. I have seen two cars on the net that have done this swap. I figure you guys would know about more people who have done that kind of a swap. So the car has 4.10 gears? If any body is planning to be in the Panama City fl. Area you can stop buy and see it.

Yeah i was just going to add that as well, You might want to fugure out what motor you have first, because you either have a LS1 from a c5 corvette (or a few other cars) OR a LS6 from the z06. Before you wire it up and start making driveshafts or running computer software its probably a good choice to know what the motor is dont you think? I have an odd feeling this swap isnt going to happen.

Ok for the people who just don’t get it I have an ls1 zo6 vette motor. The zo6 motor I have makes 405hp opposed to the stock style ls1. The difference is the heads cam and intake manifold.

You're paying to get the wiring done? Lowballing the prices hardcore. Can't spell "tranny" correctly. BTW: What the fuck is a traney? Last night's date? Asking noob questions about something as assinine as a viscous limited slip, when all corvettes, the ones wtih the LS1 engine you've got are running are clutch type. The LS1/LS6 differences include 1/2 a point of compression. And there are 2 versions of LS6 making different power. Next up, the LS1 weighs 459 pounds. LS6 is 497. The tranny you list is another ~130. So, while the motor alone weighs what the KA + transmission combined weigh.. you're still an idiot that can't do math. Go away. Really. Leave Zilvia. Play this game elsewhere. www.nicoclub.com won't give you shit for this type of idiocy. -Jeff

You don't have to lie to try and make friends on Zilvia. However we do require you at least know what the fuck you're making up stories about. Get your facts straight before your next story. Learn the difference between a LT1, LT4, LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7, etc., before spewing more mindless bullshit here.
*edit* Damn Jeff beat me to it, with better info as well.
