Okay guys I apologize if this seems like a repeat, But every thread on the topic I have found involves, cutting, modifying and risking potential damage to these head lights. The way I am showing doesn't wreck anything and allows the part to be switched back to the original if ever needed.

So..These lights are well known to be very dull and hard to see without highbeams. Mine however were just neglected when I purchased it. After looking at a few other threads I realized everyone involve, cutting, drilling or modifying a bracket or bulb. I wanted to post a plug and play version.
THE PROBLEM:
The bulb holders don’t support H1 bulbs and have different holders. In my case…..1 Side projector had a bracket that was all cut up and the bulb bounced around. The other side

That is the result, #1 fire hazard, #2 you can’t see anything!
So after some looking around I found that the root of the problem is the mounting plate’s. They are designed for out of date bulbs and are very hard to find bulbs that are difficult to obtain and aren’t very good. So here’s what I have found to be the easiest way to solve the problem.
What you need:

TOOLS:
• 10mm socket and ratchet
• 10mm spanner
• Robinson screwdriver
• Four 0.4X ½ “ self taping screws ( local hardware store)
• Philips head screwdriver
• Flat blade screwdriver
• HID Kit With H1 Bulbs ( the one I used was 6000k white)



I ordered slim line ballasts just to save space under the hood, Looks cleaner ( and they come in black)



Firstly remove the parking lights - there is one screw holding them on top of the headlights. Also remove the centre grill to get at the retaining nuts and bolts. There are two bolts on the top and two underneath. The bottom ones can be tricky. Unplug the hi/low beams three prong plug from the loom and then remove the headlights.


(Pay no attention to the crappy paint Since then it has been painted)
Once the headlights are removed just unscrew the plastic locks off the back of the low beams. And it will show you what your dealing with for plates.

Then your left with:



When I took off my plastic ring, and boot off the low beams I have no aluminum bulb backing. But normally you do have a plate here.


This is the part where things normally get difficult… but I found this great product!



The great thing about these is these are authentic H1 adapter plates with clips! So if you order H1 bulbs and these adapters no modification is required to get the bulb to fit!
When I put the HID bulb in for a test fit…Perfect, no drilling or molding
required.


The bulb has to be removed to screw the aluminum bulb plate backing into the housing. Then just replace the bulb and the rubber boot/ ring lock and bulbs are installed!

After the rubber boots installed


Then just install and Zip tie the ballast and done! I can get more pictures of the final installation if needed later this week! I can explain in more detail if needed too!

Good info but you need to shrink the pictures. They can't even fit on my 23" screen at 1900 x whatever resolution.

the "correct" way to do it would be to retrofit oem hid projectors suited for a lhd vehicle. You would want to replace the thick glass headlamp lenses with clear plastic ones as well.

But this isn't a conversion front end, this is a rhd, I was going for the easiest way without potentially ruining the original light, plastic is another option thanks for the input

I've bought hids for my duals and projectors and never had to cut or modified the housings at all!!!!! Just burly the correct bulb size

This is not the proper way to install hid lights..

the proper way is to remove the garbage RHD low beam projectors, and swap in some quality projector units, that use D2s bulbs from the get-go..

not "rigging" up a H1 bulb holder to a trash projector.

Sorry I ment to update sooner but I haven't been home in a while. The end result was great. I only did my low beams for the time being but i'm sure you could do it to all three no problem. The light is extremely clear at night and makes for a much nicer drive.
