2871r compressor housing not fitting
sup everyone sorry if this is a noob question just confused as hell.
just got back from exchanging my brand new 2871r CHRA for a brand new one since the old one had a chunk break off near the oil line fitting before i even got to drive the car. they gave me GT 835998-5010S... the exhaust housing bolted up no problems, but the compressor housing doesnt fit. the fins hit the housing. the old turbo was 743347-5001S. Seems like the fins are just barely too big to go into the housing. So is there different sized housings?or Does the CHRA have wrong fins? Or do you think the old turbo wasnt actually a Gt2871r...? Made the mistake of not bringing the housing with me when i went since i thought it would be a simple fix/fit. the guys at performance turbo double checked the new CHRA with the old one to make sure they were the same but i guess not? heres some pics to see whats going on https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-K...b8ZdaBD9GNb8j5 Last edited by CalebS13; 04-26-2019 at 10:01 PM.. Isn't there a part number on the CHRA? I am not sure what part numbers you are giving us right now, but I thought there is a tag on the CHRA. Compare it to your old one?

we compared both part numbers on the CHRA when i went to do the garett BB exchange program. Just got it figured out, i guess my GT2871r is an older gen that uses what is now. GT2554R CHRA (446179-5031S)
