?? VH45de s14 ??
what it do. so i have a 95 S14 with a kinda stock KA in it. CAI, P&P throttle body, P.I.T. exhaust and a few other things that i can hide from the long arm of the law. Well the power bug bit me when i drove my buddys 350Z. so its time for a swap. I live in cali so the SR and Rb are out the window. the ref program is my night and daymare and i know people are going to say " well then swap a VQ then retard " but thats a little out of my price range and so is the LS1. So i was thinking about the VH45de, you can pick one up for like 500-600 hun with a tranny... but is it legal in sunny california.... i looked but i didnt see anyone with a real yes or no about cali. can someone help please

As long as you get the motor from a 95+ model Q45 and don't half ass anything on the install, yes, it CAN be made legal. The headers may be tricky, though, do to the placement of the steering column.

Tuning a bit late in this. I have been researching the same idea. Mazworks seems to have taken the guess work out of the swap with their driveshaft and bellhousing kit to fit the Z32 manual tranny. But the $900 headers!!!!! Jeeze. If I go ahead on this i'm def making my own header piping.
I have never driven a Q45...is the Auto Tranny pretty slushy (shifts like a sedan) or is a at least kind of sporty? I would love to swap in the Z32 tranny but if the Q45 tranny shifts quick enough and at decent RPM's I may be inclined to stick with the Auto... Info????? |

Did you read the post just above yours?
He told you where you could find the information. http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/140078...-into-s14.html http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/210776...-part-2-a.html ... the simplest of searches netted me those.
