just got a all stock 1989 240sx, a cel doesnt exsist on my cluster. car seems to run up to par. my question before i smog if anyone has encountered a problem with smogging their car withought a cel?
never encountered a car without a cel on cluster.

Bro you gotta try the search bar... and Google. I didn't know the answer to this but googled it out of curiosity and bam. Zilvia people will get on you real quick lol. these cars have been around for 25+ yrs there is not gonna be a problem you run into that someone hasn't already.

if your car doesnt have a CEL then it has out of state emissions and ECU. Non CA 240s may or may not have CELs.

I started there but it didn't say if the problem was solved, smog asked to see the cel light. So what I just say it didn't exist and he's supposed to believe me? Is there some route to take to ensure if they need to see the cel light wasn't made fit that model and or in their record they will know this?

Mmmm just add a light, wire it to the oil light so it comes on in In AAC and then you should be okay, but I'd first Id just be like "yo didn't come from the factory with a CEL" Or you can just take off all the smog shit, get an exhaust etc etc and get it done illegally.

I wouldn't think they'd fail a bone stock car for being stock. Ford Model T's didn't have CEL's either. It's a question to ask.
