Woke up late, stared at the car for a lil while, changed one of the hubs, started putting in one of the axels then went and sold those xxr wheels in the background & called it a day LOL
Driver side hub swapped in and putting in the new axel. Last edited by 2stepGoesPowPow; 05-07-2013 at 09:34 PM.. |

I started getting some stuff in the mail.
Then went on a road trip to Michigan friday to take care of some family stuff. 10+ hour drive from new york, it totally sucked. All ghost town farm land pretty much, nice mountains and other scenic shit though. Ghost town gas station I got back sunday to some more stuff Then i power washed the motor, removed the stock motor mount bracket, stock oil cooler & water pipe. Then i painted the block, unfortunately i didn't take any pictures of the motor after i washed it, only after i painted it. Here's the parts i got so far, still waiting on a bunch of stuff though. I got my exhaust manifold and test fit it with the turbo, unfortunately the intake housing of the turbo hits the runner before it can sit flush on the exhaust manifolds T4 flange so i'm probably going to get the runner re-welded when the Tial 44mm v-band flange gets welded on to replace the current wastegate flange.
I threw the water pump, tensioners, alternator, timing belt etc. back together. Put the lightweight pulleys, Cam pulleys and valve covers on. I put together the ID1000's on the FIC fuel rail. |

So a huge delay on my R154, friend of mine got the transmission from an import place & never used it, went to ship it to me and heard a rattling. Got the transmission opened up to check it out to reveal a bunch of broken gears. So he had to drop it off to them so they can check it out, hopefully they give him a new one and i can get this shit moving...
Continued the polishing process on the intake manifold.. Put the Kouki tail lights in. Hopefully i can drop in the motor in a couple weeks. Last edited by 2stepGoesPowPow; 02-11-2014 at 11:04 PM.. |

My friend Sunny who's a pretty talented welder moved all his stuff into my garage to finish up a bunch of fabrication. If anyone in the NY area needs anything done at all (custom intercooler setup or downpipe, custom catch can/fluid reservoirs, custom seat brackets, pretty much anything) don't hesitate to ask.
So he got started chopping off the old school style wastegate flange to replace with the Tial 44mm V-band flange. Our Fine S-chassis, Sunny tweaking some things on his Built Holset powered SR. The oil return flange was hitting the manifold so Sunny welded on a -10 weldable fitting directly on the hole for the oil return, No more clearence issue. Family visited so we hung out in NYC for the day. Stopped By Claws in Queens, Nice knowledgable shop with good selection of JDM parts. So most things on the motor are finished so me and Alex went ahead and started dropping the motor in using the Xcessive brackets and nismo mounts. the turbo's compressor housing was hitting the manifold so i got a 3/8" T4 spacer and sunny welded it on, Leaning into the engine bay... With the motor in the car.. & the welds still came out pretty much perfect inside and outside the spacer. My Haltech PS2000 and wiring specialties harness came so me and Alex started setting that up. So as of rite now I'm waiting on a couple things: My aluminum 1 piece drive shaft from zerolift should be here tomorrow, i ordered 4 bolts and nuts from Fastenal last thursday, they said it would come in the next day (friday), then friday they said it would come monday and now today they said UPS lost it and they had to reorder it, should come Wednesday Also waiting on my blow off valve, intercooler piping and down pipe/exhaust piping. Tomorrow i should be able to complete my fuel setup & the car should be running and driving by the end of the month.. fingers crossed. But anyway Sunny found metal shavings in his oil, when my car is finished we're going to pull his motor and check it out before he spins a bearing. Since its in our nature when something needs to be fixed to fix it even better then it was originally, Sunny decided why not go SR20VET and slap a VVL head on there while he's at it? For those of you unfamiliar with this, its pretty much how to make an SR20det a reliable beast at 4-600+hp. So we went to JDM Engine World in Jamaica NY to pick up an SR20VE.
The forklift getting the handpicked motor lol |

My V-band intercooler setup Sunny's making is almost done, pretty much just needs the bov flange welded on.
Been lazy lately, lost motivation & sunny's been busy. All thats left is the exhaust and then i just gotta figure out how to get power to the harness to start this bitch. Last edited by 2stepGoesPowPow; 02-11-2014 at 11:06 PM.. |
