Dakota digital sgi-5 on rb25/s13/nx2000 cluster

I have a 93 s13 with an rb25 s2 swap, nx2000 digital cluster and 4.36 rear end gears... Needless to say my speedometer reads about 2/3 of the actual speed. I recently bought a digital dakota sgi-8 to fix the tachometer issue, and an sgi-5 to fix the speedo. The tachometer is now fixed and was super easy to setup... The speedometer is not adjusting. Ive set it up the way the manual recommends and ive tried the way that people have done it online in different threads. Ive searched for days, got nothing. I just got off the phone with "tech" support at dakota digital and i feel like i spoke with Cheech Marin, when i told him my problem his only response was... "Oh, i dont know"
The calibrator is wired up properly and when driving it, it wont show any speed on the dash untill i get going about 20mph, at which point its still off the same amount as before. Then i try to adjust it and im getting nothing. I've tried swapping the output wire to the other outputs and switching the dip switchs and ive gotten no change. Also tried to preset it with the fine and course presetting based on the ratio difference of my speed and also got nothing. Im having a lot of trouble getting any info about it online that is directly related to nissan vehicle speed sensors with nissan gauge clusters.

Anybody have similar issues or have one and is setup working properly please help. Thanks.

Do you have the polarity correct? I had a similar issue with my Z32 speedo and the SGI-5. Turns out there is polarity on the speed sensor and I had it backwards. Just food for thought.

I took the wire coming into the back of the gauge cluster, cut it and spliced the wire from the cluster plug into out1, and the wire coming from the vss into the input. The only thing i was wondering was that the vss is a two wire... Should the other wire on the vss be hooked up to the "sensor ground" spot i noticed other people online were not hooking up anything to "sensor ground"

Try swapping the wires. This is what I had to do inorder to get mine functioning properly.

If I'm not mistaken and my memory serves me correctly, both of the speedo wires go to the back of the cluster.

Glad it was sorted out. The tech guy I talked to at Dakota wasn't from the movie.
