SR Squeaking, weird noise from the front suspension.

Hey all I have a 91 s13 that while driving it squeaks and rattles from the front suspension. I have coil overs on it and it is hard to duplicate while the car is not moving, sounds like something is loose bu i have checked all the components and nothing appears to be loose. Anyone else having this issue.

Btw! It is on stock suspensions except for cusco coil overs.

I am wondering if its the coilovers? could someone give some help on this or not?

Is the top nut on the coilover torqued correctly? I had this problem on a set of BC coilovers before. Is it more squeaking or knocking/rattling?

which nut are u talking about? there are 3 bolts that mount the coilover to the shock tower and then the nut that is in the middle, It has a pillowball mount i guess thats what it is called...

it sounds like squeaking to me.....

Yes, I was talking about that center nut on the tower...that wouldn't really cause squeaking though, more like a popping or loose sound. I was check the different bushings and components where the suspension moves. They could just be making noise because they are older/worn and the new suspension places extra stress on them. Try greasing some of the areas if it's bad until you can replace them.

Mine does this exact same thing! When I had my Kyb shocks and Drop zone coils I figured it was them, got my tein drifts and it still does it. Mine only does it when I hit a large bump. The only thing I can think of is a bushing is old, maybe even the sway bar. When I get my engine finished I am going to rip the front suspension out and replace the old bushings.

mine does this as well, even at highway speeds just cruising. I've already replaced the tension rod bushing, sway bar bushing and sway end link bushings (though I didn't put any grease on the end link bushings maybe I should have?)

Okay, I checked the bolt on the top and when I turn it it does not really adjust or tighten, it turns the coilover. But I am pretty sure its the coilover but now why would it be making the sound to begin with?

Of course I do not remember if it made the sound before I put the coilovers on so that would have been a clear sign..
