S13 SR20DET power loss help please!!
hey guys let me start off with the problem i have, its doing my head in..
Car has no power, slower than a stock DE! boggs/hesitates and has a slight misfire. adjusted TPS to 0.45 closed. no air leaks in FMIC piping, car's boost pressure makes 0.4bar. 140-150 compression on all 4. What i've replaced: fuel pump, fuel filter, AFM, engine bay to ecu loom, spark plugs, coil pack loom, coil packs, turbo, FMIC + piping, knock sensor, cleaned IACV car is a KPS13 factory 5 speed sr20det. new fluids throughout, just put 30lt's of petrol in it. any and all help is greatly appreciated! i've literally tried everything! edit: timing is set at 15deg. |

If its getting good spark and proper fuel then it sounds timing related. Double check both cam timing AND CAS timing. A consult port would really come in handy here too.

A lot of times on SR's you have to use a timing light with a timing advance built in. For some reason I've never had good luck timing them with a regular light

If you are setting timing at idle, then a regular inductive timing light is just fine. We have degree marks on the crank and a pointer. If you have a problem setting timing correctly, mechanical, cas? Then a timing light that tells you how advanced or retarded you are is generally more beneficial. Or if you want to check the timing at any rpm other than idle, then ones with advance features are useful. Or if you have an MSD system.
Pull codes! .48bar is about 7psi and a stock Sr is not fast! In other words you are not making 205hp at 7psi. Try raising the boost to 11psi or max of 13psi. That's probably about 220-230hp. I don't think that missing .08bar is going matter much! From a Highly Tuned Note 4.5!!!

will double check CAS timing and cam timing tomorrow! if it still doesnt work, ill try put in a boost T and raise the boost?
i understand that silvias arent fast, i've driven my mates s13 with a t25 and it flies, my turbo pulsar which is 200kw should be the same as this, this is so slow its not funny! |

I had the same issue and ended up being my CAS was breaking up. My timing was dead on at 15* at idle with throttle un plugged and engine reved to 3k twice. Swapped in a new CAS and set timing again and it runs perfect.
