Ive never sticked aluminum. What is it like to weld? I've mig'd, tig'd, and gas welded it. Ne'er stick.
Glad to see some mods took some action. |

You cant really see the puddle, and it eats the rod up fast.
Had the machine set for 3/32 7018 and left it there for a starting point. Did pretty well with the 1/4 stuff I was welding. First hurdle was I would arc it and pull back and it would go out. I was in a high lift and didnt have a guy on the ground to mess with the machine. I kept screwing with it and finally figured out when you strike the arc you almost had to push the rod right into the weld and stat moving. I though it was pretty cool, id like to try it in a shop or something with a nice clean piece and see what happens. |

It has plenty of of purpose... Ever try building a crane with 200ft of whip? Try getting wire to feed through that. Not happening.
I love stick welding to extent. Mostly just when it's easy. Not so much when doing the back side of a pipe with 3" of clearance between the pipe and wall... Using a mirror to watch what you're doing... That's when I hate stick welding... Lol |

the guy i built it for ordered the couplers and didnt get the right one for the maf-pipe.
so i used a random reducer coupler to mock up for him so i could actually build it on the day he wanted it done.

^^^^^^^^ Thanks.
The stock replacement hasn't been listed yet, were going to do a Black Friday One-Day Sale on that item at a blow-out price. I will put the flyer up when it's ready, as of now it's $595 shipped in the lower 48 states. |

Finally set my tubing bender up...after buying it in March. Nothing fancy, but here's my first bend.
![]() What are your all's thoughts on bendtech pro? Thinking of picking it up after Thanksgiving.

QUESTION;
What method(s) would you men use when filling the 3rd brake line hole on an S14? It has that ovular shape, FYI. Should I make my patch piece in that same shape and and butt weld it into place? Would it suck if I lapped welded it? I assume I should just run tack welds around the piece "jumping around" to keep heat down... I'm using a MIG (75/25 mix gas) and my material is 22g. Sorry, I'm green at welding.
