well the reason why i would just smear it around the vacuum leak is because i live in a apt complex and they dnt allow me to work on my car in the driveway so i cant take off the intake manifold

Set aside plenty of time to get this done. If it's your first time, and you're not used to torquing on cars, it's going to take longer than you think. Take your time. You don't want to finish getting everything together only to discover you left something undone and you have to start over.

Take it to a friend's house & do it there. Shit man, do it in the Vatozone parking lot lol.
Although, if that's what you feel you have to do, then at least be honest with wohever buys it so they will know to fix it right down the line. I vote buy a new gasket & fix it right. Slight PITA, but shouldn't take more than a couple hrs.

I actuallly hooked up a smoke leake test ( is thay wat its called?) And i clearly see alot of smoke coming out from where the head metes the block which in turns shows the gasket is f*****
