I was thinking about upgrading my exhaust soon but I wanted to know that if I do this will it be a waste of time when I swap engines, I.E Sr20Det or Rb25Det. Any answer?

nope, just get an exhaust suitable for an sr20det, like 3" or so, don't get an n/a spec exhaust though if ur gonna be swapping soon, would just be a waste of time and money cuz u'd want one w/ bigger piping to suit the turbo later.

how would a turbo exhaust effect my performance now? Would it be a positive or negative compared to the stock exhaust.

i'm not a car expert but if i'm not mistaken, a larger pipe on your n/a engine should improve your low end.

it would do the opposite of that, it will take away from low end n add mostly to ur top-end. here's a quote from allmotorka: "The theory is that smaller exhaust pipes will have higher exhaust gas velocity at low rpm vs. larger exhaust pipes. The higher the exhaust gas velocity, the greater the vacuum that is created at the exhaust port... the result is that more exhaust gas is evacuated from the cylinder during the exhaust cycle which allows more fresh air to come in during the intake cycle. The most common problem is when the exhaust pipes are too small which causes a reduction or limit in the upper rpm and even mid-range rpm power."
