Spindle grease??
So here is my NoooB!! Question , and yees i tried researching and the info the repeatedly came was the grease tht goes in the hub for the bearings.
So i jus finished my 5lug front conversion, and i am curious to know if i have to place "hub grease" on spindles and then slide on the conversion hubs? Cuz off my knowledge it does not spin wat spins is the hub itself so do i really need to grease it? Or is it just so it doesnt sieze when i want to remove them? Thank you guys! Bumping an old-ass post that hasn't yet been answered, as far as I can find.
Any final word on whether or not spindles need to be greased before the hub is slipped on?? Thanks! |

Does it NEED to be greased? no. the contact surfaces between the spindle and hub are stationary. Grease may help in seating a new hub bearing if you're attempting to install it in a not recommended way. What the original question had to do with was greasing the inside of the bearing. What it turned into was " I grease the spindle, and you should too. it wont hurt " So you should take away from that what you want and possibly hit up small question thread next time/for further advice from the masses. You'll get more answers and less shit for bumping up old threads over there anyway.
