I saw an ad for this 92 240SX for sale. I said that the head gasket was blown, $800. The picture looked nice.
When I meet the girl, she said she drove the car after it got hot and took it into the dealer. They told her she blew the motor. She drove it home and put it up for sale. The body and interior are #### near mint. I said I'd give her $500. She agreed. The water pump failed on her, she blew the head gasket. The motor still runs, so its not siezed. I got a friend who is very good at rebuilding motors and has contacts at machine shops, but we don't have any experience with the KA24DE. I'd like to bump the HP up over the stock 155, but don't want to drop a lot of $$$ on it from the start, maybe just port and polish the heads. Any suggestions on where to get the rebuild supplies at a good price? Also, any tips on unique rebuild requirements for the motor would help. Thanks-- |

Unfortunately, I'm unable to help you with the repair hints, but I would like to say--YOU GOT A HELLUVA DEAL ON THE CAR!!!! You can have a lot of fun building that car up to what you want.
And--Welcome to the forum! Question--your name (warhawk01WS6)--do you have a WS-6? |

Thanks for the welcome and I agree on the good deal. I really didn't need another project but I NEVER let an opportunity go by.....and it reminded me of my old 95 240SE a lot....
Yes, I have a 2001 WS6. I tried to ad the .Gif to my sig, but something didn't work.... |

Warhawk, I couldn't get my sig to work either. My BF has a 2000 WS6 and I love it! He just put an MTI lid on it and it sounds awesome! If you go to www.ls1.com (if you've never been there), there's sh*tloads of info there. His car is the only car I'd take over mine (well, that's available in the US anyway), but by the time I can afford one, they won't be making them anymore.
Sorry about the non-240 stuff, guys! Hope you get the 240, Warhawk! BTW--where are ya from? |

No engine swap, just looking for info on the rebuild.
Anything will help, as I found out Haynes doesn't make a manual for it, but Chilton does. I heard bad things about Chiltons..... 96SEChick-I've been on LS1.com from the start. This is my 6th F-body so I'm very familar with the mods. I think I've done them all....... |
