S14 with front end damage

So I was pretty close to buying a miata after having a few 240s, when someone I know called me and said they have this s14..

heres my dilemma: the guy who owned the car was dailying it, and drove it into the back of a truck in traffic. bent the hood, fenders, ruined the headlights.

the guy that i know said part of the frame was slightly bent but he'd be able to pull it out with a crane, in addition to replacing the core support. he also said that he drove it ~40 miles AS IS, and that it drove fine.

the car has 80k miles, 5spd, 5lug, no rust, will definately need paint.

hes asking $1500.

should i take it? looking to make a drift daily out of something. was pretty set on miatas, but this is one hell of a deal if the car is indeed alright.

oh, and clean title too.

i forgot to add, he's also putting a new hood, bumper, fender, and headlights on it.

so $1500 for a stock rust-free 5spd s14 that had its frame pulled.

yes/no for a drift car?

thinking of having a full custom end done, tubs, bash bars, the works.

paint, that, plus the car i think i could have for around $2600.

get it, might as well, get the whole car painted and engine swapped in while everything is being being removed.

check the frame first. Get legit proof that it is all straight. Aligment info etc. If it is fixed and everything is straight then get it.

heres my plan..

if everything lines up good, and the frame looks straight, ill ask to drive it for a day.

drive it over to just tires, and see if it alligns out.

if it doesnt, ill take the car back to him; cant pass a 5spd s14 with no rust, 80k miles up, for $1500. my second choice is a miata drift car with a jdm motor swap.. friends car, im not too knowledgeable on mazda swaps aside from rotary ones, but it supposedly runs good.

if the s14s fucked, miata drift time

pull the frame straight with a crane? I would have a body shop pull it straight for you on a frame rack, or have him do that.

Definetly seems like a good buy, but i would take it to a place that can Jig that chasis to see how it all lines up now.

That's a good deal as long as the frame is straight, and why would you want the ka in it you just can't get the power out of a ka like you can with an Sr or rb
