s14 help with blower heat

hey guys i have this problem with my 97 240sx
the vents would not change from vent to def..
the first thing i replaced was the bi level motor because it was bad.
then replaced the control unit and still would not change front vent to def
got a used control unit and still the same so i replaced the mode door motor and still nothing
i would a appreciate any help

Is the mode door the same as the blend door actuator? If not, you may try that. Only thing left besides that would be the blower motor resistor - except that is usually for fan speed, not mode changing IIRC.

where is the blower motor resistor located??? the one im talking about this part number 27733M

It controls the airflow mix between defrost, dash and floor vents... Electrical actuator connected to the vent system baffles mechanically by a small armiture. AKA blend door actuator... On a JDM S13, you can see it from the RH floor back behind the center console underneath the main center vent... Not sure about S14, but I am sure a Google image search can show you where one is.

Sometimes, the armiture can pop off depending on how it is secured- pull your center console apart and give it a look... you may get lucky and just need to put it back on.

ok if that goes bad would that make the mode door actuator not get like any power to operate ??

Yes, if the air mix actuator goes bad, the little armiture will not move... If the armiture does not move, the air won't go from vent, to floor, to defrost etc.

Why don't you take the console apart and verify it is not working before just ordering a part? I told you, it may be as simple as reconnecting the armiture.

if u mean the dash.. i cant do that right now because if i do the car will be apart and well i can leave the car where it is for that long i rather order that and take it apart and if is not bad i can return the new one then keep waiting
but if u mean the console where the radio and control unit is i have that apart ill check as soon as i can
