Hey, so this morning, I go downstairs and there's a nice injen intake starin me in the face So anyway, I open the box, get the parts out, and fly out to the car. I got it installed in about 1/2 an hour, and it looks FLY! #### it's nice not seeing that stock airbox in there.

Power gains weren't what I thought they'd be, but I definately gained. Probably 5 hp over pulling out the resonator pipe from the stock airbox. Definately worth the money. Plus when I get the exhaust it'll help quite a bit.

Congratulations, where'd you get it from, and if you don't mind me asking, what'd it cost?

I really have to start modding my 240, I just picked it up last month, so I am still trying to figure out my budget with the payments and all.

transient, if you are driving an S14 I would recommend getting the CAE for that intake if you havent already. After running without it on my car, and then putting the CAE on, it seemed to make a much bigger difference.
I noticed better performance and a much nicer sound.
Ill never run without it again.
I think you can get the extension for around $90 if you shop around.

SCC tested the Injen & proved 5.4hp to the wheels. IIRC, 11.4hp are freed in the mid-range. I'm unsure if the test was w/ or w/out CAE.
It sure is a beauty though

So is everybody happy with their injen intakes?

Ive heard good things about them. I've been thinking of getting one, and just wondered if anyone recommends another brand.

What's IIRC? And when you say freed in the mid-range do you mean there was a 11.4hp difference at like3-5 grand or something? But below 3 grand there was a 5 hp difference? I'm confused. I'm kinda new to this site. I just bought my 98 last week.

IIRC=If I Recall Correctly
Yeah, you got it. 11.4 hp would be the greatest gain at some point in the power band. Say, at 3000, there was a 5.3hp gain; at 4000, there was a 8.9hp gain; at 5000, there was the max gain of 11.4hp; and at 6000, there was a gain of 3.5hp. Let's say peak power is at 5600...that's where the 5.4hp gain is taken.

HKS Intake vs Injen Intake, which do you think is better?

They are around the same price. I might be more willing to buy from HKS because they are a respected part manufacture. Where as I have never heard of Injen and their shiney car parts

I'd go with the injen intake. If i'm not mistaken, HKS just offers a filter adapter. Oh, Transient, you can't get the c.a.e. with the 90? That's weak. I was planning on getting the whole intake set-up next month.

Injen has been making intakes for Nissan (and other cars) for a long time. They're well respected as having the best intake for the 240sx.

Basically you would be paying for a coplete intake system if you got the HKS, but you would only be getting a filter when you can spend the same ammount and get a even better filter plus the piping to match and more power. Get the Injen They kickass.

i have a 93 and injen makes a cae for the early 90s it is like 100 bucks but i don't think it makes that much hp cuase i can take my hole system off and just run the filter with stock piping and i can't tell any difference..
i just painted my alloy pipe black and it seems to not get so hot..plus it looks stock...

I love my INJEN. Got it for my birthday from my bf, and after he installed it for me, I noticed a difference right away. It's pretty dope. I would definitely recommend it!

do you *have* to get new exhaust if you get new intake? I have an s13 fastback with stock everything and I need to replace the air filter anyways...so I was thinking I might as well install a whole new intake system. (screwy logic, huh)

nope, it just gives you a better performance jump if you do it at the same time. Grab the intake now, exhaust whenever you get the chance.

I feel for you. I'm sorry... Just kidding. I want performance parts. Whether it's my birthday or not. I got him parts for his b-day and afterwards, and he got me parts for mine, and constantly helps me with my car (if and when I need anything fixed). I'm just a complicated girl, don't laugh. I'm not masculine at all. I'm really tiny and at certain times, I wear make-up. See, it's ok!

my gf cleaned up her garage for me, so that i could put my car in there when i'm over. keep it out of the rain, etc. That was pretty cool. She's starting to like car shows now too. She's been to 5 with me. But, buying her car parts is still a bit of a stretch....

i was going to buy her a Renault Manic (so that she could get into racing, but she hates the car). Its the only one in Western Canada, and one of 160 worldwide. Plus its got a real racing history. She likes her Volvo 850. But its too expensive to soup up her car. Oh well, maybe I'll just buy it for myself.
