It was $5 for 'parking'.. nevermind, they closed the gates at some point in the day. I have to wonder if they would have let me back in if I needed to goto an ATM to get more cash to buy something from the roach-coach

Hey thanks man. I believe I have an LSD, at least it feels that way. And yea I think all silvias have LSD and I would assume a K's SE would have one. Im not going to DD7 but I'll be watching at D1. I too feel your pain with the body roll, I gotta get some coilovers or something pronto.

Hmm, probably the angle. I know when the car is on stands both rear wheels spin together when you spin one freely. All I know is I was understeering like crazy into that 360 .

d00d those camera angles suck ****. I'm so serious! I went through the first 10 or so, then decided it wasn't worth my effort.
That aside, I don't know what everyone's infatuation with the signal cars is. Yeah, they're pretty nice, but... come on, we've all seen them a billion times from every angle possible. Yes, I do believe it's a scorpion that I have stuck up my bung tonight... but still! DDs are too expensive for what you get. |

Dousan, why are you selling your spot? Same reason Adey doesn't like them? I kind of agree with Adey, if DD7 isn't way more organized and generally better than DD6, it will be my last. You get way more track time at other events.

yes and no
few reason: need coilovers rebuilt need new tires dont know about surface (another tire killer?) no passengers rule and i'd rather wait for dd8. dd7 and dd6 are too close for me. i can pull it off ok but why? no rush. dd8 is irwindale and will be fun. ill be photo ninja for a day instead! maybe ride w/ some friends hehehehehe... |

Yea the disorganization was kind of annoying. I had to move my car 3 times, one of which was when I was in the middle of changing my wheels Not cool. Have previous events been more organized?

imho
dd4 and dd5 were the most organized. dd5 was PERFECT as a 2 day event! I LOVED IT! i drove second day adn that was more 'intermidiate' drivesr so the lines moved much faster and less people and LOTS of track time dd4 had a smaller group too. the freeway side of irwindale was the intermidiate/high speed type layout and the line was short (perfect) and it had 4 area: slalom skidpad jturn 2nd top gear course dd5 was cool for its layouts mid speed course 3 jturn type area skidpad/conage area dd6 was ok w/ 3 jturn/skidpad but the 1 large course was disappointing (should have made 2 large ones) hopefly dd7 will be best im anxiously awaiting dd8, because its back at irwindale. the are pretty good at nice faster tight layouts there. LOVE it. |

oh one more thing
the reason it was so 'disorgazined' was my 2 big beefs with that day: signal demos excessively long 'course testing' lost a good 1.5 hours if not more due to that drift day = PRACTICE day. nto demo day. save that crap for the tourists and drift showoff events drift day is PRACTICE time. i did NOT learn a single thing watching signal fly around the place. yeah he did 4th gear drifts, but was i in the car? noooo. i saw nothing new. it was nice signal came out (thank you SA) but please. save that for exhibition events. stop taking my track time. hundred dollars for 1 hour wait giving me 3 laps on the big course (and i only got 2 times in my run group on the big course, thankfully open track at end of day) as for the course testing. does it take 10 or so people to test a course layout? i dont think so. |

I wish we could have had more time on the big track...it just seemed like that whenever it was my rotation for the big track I only got to run it three times. I'm still looking forward to DD7 though...any track time is good track time.

I had a blast at DD6. Yes, I think that it was a little overcrowded, but everyone wants to drift these days!
The course layout proved to be much more difficult than anticipated because of the changing elevations. Having a fast and intermediate track was discussed, but discarded for the same reason. The back section of the course was really bumpy and wouldn't have been that fun to have an individual section on. It was that section that was causing problems during testing and had to be modified. Everyone is really conscious of potential crash areas since we have started to have a few. Just trying to make it safe. Yep the demos took up time. Luckily, since Komatsusan was using my oil cap for his demos (he blew his off somehow), I did manage to grab a ride. Pretty impressive to say the least. I actually think that DD7 will be much better than DD6 because of the surface. It will be a really big lot too, but no bumps like 3Com. Exacty what the surface is like, I don't remember - we can check it out this weekend at Hyperfest. I like the two day events also - plenty of time for all skill levels. |
