sr20 valve stem seals
Well my sr20det redtop started to smoke and from guess it has to be the valve stem seals. I have found replacements at phase2motortrend. but on this little write up it says i can use ka24de ones for the exhaust and sentra ones for the intake. the write us is here Technical Articles: How To: Build a 9000rpm SR20DET Head, and please don't burn for looking on nico club. but i was wondering if it true that i can use these instead of the ones from phase2motortrend. also i wonderng if i should do anything else to the head while i have torn apart. not things like upgraded springs and retainers and all that other fun stuff. just the bare minium i guess. my pockets are only filled with lint and old receipts. thanks for the time.

that would be the time to do a valve job, springs/retainers/cams, port/polish, etc .. but if dont have the cash or thats not what youre lookin for, just replacing the seals would be fine.

there is an adpater that you can buy that screws into the spark plug socket.
I heard ppl say that doing a cylinder at a time is easier if you raise that cylinder to TDC and letting the valve sit on it.

/\ /\ True, just set the cylinder you are working on to tdc so even if the valve does drop it doesn't go down too far and looses alignment with the guides. I just used a similar sized socket in comparison to the seals and tapped them down. No issues since.
