Calling on all guys and gals!!!NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!!
Ok Im calling on all the boys and gals that have an interest(or dont) in drifting or any other style of racing. My name is Junius, I am from Atlanta GA and I own a ae86. I love taking it to the tracks and drifting it here in the ATL. Well just recently the only place in ga that allows drifting decided they want to shut their doors to us b/c of noise. We have legit track days there and have been for almost ten years. The coordinator for the drifting went to a meeting with Turner field(yes where the sorry ass braves play) to talk about the complaint. They turned him down and said no more.
So we guys that enjoy the sport and enjoy the brotherhood have come together to get a petition of as many people as possible to join to send to the mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed. Now I know a lot of you guys 'from Atlanta, or even have any interest in drifting, but I need your help. This is a horrible idea to shut it down, so many people are going to be stupid and street drift and that's not good at all. As crazy as it sounds closing this down in my eyes will eventually change the lives of some people. If you guys could please add yourself to the petition to get the numbers up I would fucking love you guys forever! This is no spam shit, no bs, google the subject if you want. YOu dont have to put your address down or give any unnecessary information you dont feel comfortable giving. This is the page with the petition: Petition: Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Atlanta City Council Members: Veto ordinance amendment 12-0-0502 (14) | Change.org Once again anyone who helps us guys out we would really appreciate it, keep drifting fun!!! Thanx |

You realize this happens at tracks everyday and a small handful of kids signatures isn't going to change shit. Right?

Whether I agree with you or not. I don't agree that you need to come in here and bash them. What they do or not do not affect you, so why do you bring the hate?

the point of voting is to accumulate votes to stand as one view point, so every vote does in fact, count. also, I didn't realize voting to keep a popular motorsport in their town was '8th grade school yard bullshit'. in the real world, people fight for what they believe in, whether its at war or through political entities and if you're too 'cool' or 'manly' to do it then when something happens that you don't want I don't want to hear any bitching. its like this: 5th grade class. teacher says 'raise your hands for apple juice' out of 20 kids, 9 raise their hands. 'now raise your hands for grape juice' out of the remaining 11, 8 kids raise their hands, leaving 3 undecided or unwilling. after the apple juice is distributed throughout the class, Wake (just giving him a name) who was one of the three says to the teacher "but I didn't want apple, I wanted grape" the teacher then says "well you should have said something, because if you did, we just might be having grape right about now." get it? same concept applies to politics and petitions. hence, if there are enough votes, the petition goes through and has a fighting chance. and if you don't care whether or not they keep drifting in that city, then why are you here? I'm not even from there and I care because its what makes them happy and I would want them to do the same for me if they were gonna ban drifting from Florida. oh, and btw, I've lived in Cali, so I know how it is in both states and other then your mountains and bullshit laws and trigger-happy cops, its not much different. just saying. What the fuck are you talking about. Votes from other States don't count. Its like the retarded kid in the back of class raising his hand for both apple and grape juice.
And saying you want a pointless ass vote to go through so I can eat my words is some 8h grade bullshit. Third time know. Grow the fuck up.

and anyways, you guys are getting soooooo mad over this. its a thread for people who want to help.
oh you don't want to help? get the fuck out, point made. besides, a simple search on google warrants this: (you should be familiar with google since you are on zilvia, right?) "Only registered voters can legally sign a petition designed to place a measure on a ballot for voters to consider or to direct the legislature to initiate legislation. The name of an unregistered voter on a petition is stricken. A person circulating a petition who knowingly allows an unregistered person to sign the document can face criminal prosecution. just signed the petition. While a petition might be good you might want to get the mayor where it might hurt him. Get about 10% of the VOTING population to send him letters, email, calls to his office. Give him good arguments, such as an increase in street racing etc.
and mention that you, your family and friends, don't agreed with the shutting down of the place and that you will be force to vote for someone who will support you. it's a hassle but it works. My econ teacher in high school wanted better services for high school students such as buses and better protection during after school hours in the ares surrounding the school. As expected they ignore him, but when he had a voter registration drive and about 10% of the voting population was related or was a student. they suddenly agreed to work with my teacher. Just a possible idea. |
