KA24DE-T BOV problems

Hey all. So I recently boosted my ka and everything works great. I am using a freshly rebuilt t-25 off an sr at stock 7 psi but my problem comes in with the BOV. I had some cheap crappy bov at first and then got an HKS knock off from a buddy and my other friend gave me his real HKS. The vacuum line is connected to the intake manifold under where the iac goes but even under the full 7psi the bov doesn't open. None of the BOVs worked and the HKS I lubed and opens and closes pretty easy by hand but even still doesn't open under full boost. I tried different vacuum points and nothing. I am open to any and all suggestions please. The only thing releasing the pressure is just the wastegate.

If your HKS is adjustable.. try loosening the bolt to have less spring tension on it. Honestly at such low boost I usually dont even run BOV. GL!

The bov doesn't open under boost. It opens under vacuum.
SO that being said check the vacuum lines and ports. BOV could be faulty, but you have to diagnose it first. I say weak vacuum on the signal line, is your problem.

GroundPerformance - The bov doesn't have the adjustment. If it is safe to run it with no bov then that would be a load off my shoulders.

Cotbu - I tried running the vacuum line off the throttle body where my boost gauge runs off and cruising at 60 mph my vacuum reads between 16-18 so I am not sure if that would make a difference. My friend gave me the hks off his evo 8 and it was working perfectly fine on his car when he pulled it off and gave it to me.

You need to run you bov off you compressor side... Close to your turbo.. If not on it Your intake isnt a good place to do from. Just my .02 cents.

wrong..you want your b.o.v as close to your throttle body as possible.

Only if you want it to be loud and less functional.

the hks bov will BARELY open at 7psi. I had a real one (blew up...literally) and a knock off. Do the sprinkler spring mod to allow it to open easily and epoxy reinforcement so the black piece inside doesnt break.

Hey guys I wanted to thank you all! I got it to work and it sounds FANTASTIC!!!! Turns out that the vacuum line that it was originally attached to was to the egr and the guy that installed the turbo blocked off the egr so it had no air flow. (EPIC fail) I attached it to the nipple inside of the intake manifold behind the TB and it worked. Again thanks a lot. I was about to just give up lol. Hope you all have a great thanksgiving!
