How to get peeled clear coat fixed? (pics included)

Sup peeps,

Just a few days ago I've noticed that on one of my wheels (sportmax 002) clear coat started peeling off. So the questions is
there anyway to get this thing fixed without resurfacing the whole rim? I know if I want to polish it, I'm gonna have to remove
the clear coat with an air craft remover or something like that but in that case I'm gonna have to do all 4, and I'm too lazy to do that
because the other 3 are just fine. Have any of you done anything like this before? BTW this is polished aluminum lip, I would really appreciate
if someone could give me some steps in order to remove those scuffs. Thanks.

no offense sir, but i dont think sportmax wheels are worth the hassle to get them perfect again.

You nailed it on the head, sir. They'll oxidize through the clear coat anyway. Well, mine did before I painted them.

Remove the clear coat like you said with the stripper. and then re-clearcoat just that wheel. Good Luck

If you were a crazy perfectionist you wouldn't have sportmaxxx on your car.

Simple solution is leave em.

Second, more difficult, solution is strip and polish.

what's wrong with having sportmax ? I like them that's all it matters. By calling myself "a crazy perfectionist" I was meaning that I like to keep the car clean. Strip and polish that's exactly what Im going to do

it really doesn't cost that much everything should be under $30 and for that price I should have enough materials to redo all 4.

Thanks for replies but I get that not that many people like wheels like this...

looks like you also got some oxidation happening on ur lugs, id fix that aswell cause personally, i believe that rust looks 10x worse then your clear... but yeah but strip and polish, did that for a couple ebay steering wheels, came out nice too!

sportmaxx=cheap wheels; cheap wheels=crappy products used in production of the wheel

volk, work, etc finishes are high quality and will last much longer because of the high quality techniques used in production. if you want show car wheels, you need to pay for show car wheels.

you get what you pay for...

and do you really think ur comment is helpful here? Fuck no! I dont have rich parents nor do I have a lot of money? If I did - I wouldn't drive a 240 is one thing, another thing I wouldn't be rolling on sportmax wheels, who gives a damn how good they are? It's just completely pointless to have volks or any other expensive shit like that on SOHC, auto, open diff 240, don't you think? Now, who said anything about a show car? Maybe I'm just trying to improve me knowledge about polishing and resurfacing wheels so I might use it later on in future. Dang, please give me a brake people! All I wanted to know is which sand paper to use and whatnot and you give me all that instead, thanks a lot you deserve a ban...

Agreed, this is pointless bashing when a member is coming to this forum asking on how to fix something...Especially from new members.

Just to contribute....As to what was previously said, just strip that one wheel down and re-clear it.

Nice! Do you have any pictures of it? As far clear goes, would that be ok if I'd just go ahead and get the one that sells at AZ?

Thanks for support. I would love to do that but I'm not sure if it will match the other wheels? I mean it's not a big factor but still? Maybe I should just go ahead and do all of them at the same time or something
