I guess you could do that but then you're wasting a pair of interior panels.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85OysZ_4lp0 I mean the S13 would do exactly this. I would imagine the cage would help marginally but increase your chances of traumatic injury if you're not wearing a helmet. |

Finally, I can post on this thread. Just picked up this Cusco 6-pt semi locally not too long ago. Still need to weld a harness bar in though.

Haven't been able to find a definitive answer to my question. The car is also sitting at a body shop, otherwise I'd just test fit everything.
Currently have a Cusco 6-point cage for my S14 along with side bars. I'm wondering if they can be ran simultaneously. This: With this: I will be running Bride bucket seats. So, getting in and out of the car really won't be a problem. If anyone has any input, I'd greatly appreciate it. |

^Holy hell, that thing must be a pita to get in and out of!
On my s14 I decided to install the rear bolts on the wheel wells from the outside in, because of that and because I decided to use a double nut to counter lock the first one, I ended up having to cut some huge holes on my rear panels. I really envy you all with the nice perfectly fitting holes. Im still trying to figure out that to use to cover them up.

It sure is , i wish it was through dash giving me some more room but it came in a old comp spec S13 i bought recently. When funds allow i think ill be looking to get a full weld in cage made up get the car back up to the new regulations for competition.

The only bolt in cages worth looking at in this group of pics are the Saito units. All the other ones are inherently weak just by nature of their design.

Seriously. How many times did you measure to get it that accurately?
Or, used a throwaway panel to use as reference? |

No worry chief, you'll get it right next time....
Seriously thou, how the heck do you even do that? Has anybody else built bigger plates to reinforce the bases of their rollbars? This is what I did on mine:

No throwaway panels, just a lot of measuring and brain power!

Sharing my bolt in setup.
Bought a Woodward fab bender and finally got around to using it. i used UTV hinge connectors to bolt them in. I made it a pretty tight fit, even around the top... when it wraps around the dash by the vent, theres about 1/8" of space by the thumbwheel on the vent. the main hoop, i think was built by someone and not bought from a company. i'll paint it tonight, same color as my bay.. |

89 s13 non sunroof coupe cusco 6pt with add-on carbon fiber crossbar. It was a pain to put in with automatic seat belts so I took the tracks out and made the trim plastics fit.

Call me daft but with grassroots rulings sounding like the bolt-in cage stuff will start to be removed as an acceptable cage, are y'all just going to weld that shit together?
