How many miles you get to a Full Tank on your KA?
Sup guys was wondering how many miles you guys get on your 240s' Because it seems like something is wrong with my car when it comes to MPG, I dont even get 200 miles to a full tank, Lets say i i fill up the tank to full (About 15 gallons). I drive normally everyday to work and IF im lucky i get 200 miles to the full tank IF im Lucky. Now i used to get about 300 miles to the tank on my last 240 which had a SR20 which i think is weird because i had a built top end and was top notch. So i dont know if theres just too much fuel being pushed in from the fuel injectors or what.
So im just wondering what you guys get to the full tank on your 240s... |

What maintenance have you done to the motor that you swapped in?
All the ignition should be tuned up: plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor. Clean the MAF sensor, clean out your EGR pipe, clean your IACV. |

I didnt swap anything in, I bought this 240 about 4 months ago and since day 1 i would only get about 180-200 miles to the tank, This is my 3rd 240 in the passed 8 years and my 2 previous s13s had sr20 swaps but got better gas mileage then this car. And the car ive got now is a 93 vert with 110k original miles, its all stock and automatic. Something i did notice tho is that it burns oil and when i did my oil change last week (10w40 Mobil 1 Synthetic and Lucas Oil lubricant) and the next day i checked my oil and it was completely black. So im just waiting on a free day off work so i can see what the hell is wrong. I didnt expect out of all 3 s13s ive owned that this one would be the worse gas, expecially since its stock and auto, never been modified. Anyways any tips would be appreciated |

Just fyi, SRs should get better mileage than KAs; it's a smaller motor so as long as you're not boosting everywhere it should get 30+ mpg. As to why you don't get good mileage with your KA there's a bunch of stuff to check. Do you still have emissions on it? Do you have a CEL? I got about 400 to a tank (with a couple gallons left in it) routinely.

I never went down to the light on my 240 but I averaged around 24-25 combined MPG when i would fill up by the time I reach below a quarter.

Use to drive my 240 till the needle hit the bottom.. no idea how i never ran out of gas.
Also note, its bad for the fuel pump to go empty all the time. Back to topic, i get about 25 a gallon on a Auto KADE. Motor is stock. Think it could use a maintenance as Falkon recommended. |

I think my record was something close to 415 miles on a long haul highway trip several years ago. I suppose I could've gone a bit further, as I didn't run it dry.

I have my egr valve removed along with just about every other emissions part and with my ac on as soon as I get in my car and driving like a jack ass most of the the time and averaging around 85mph on the freeway I still get 325-350 to a take and my afr are fine(have wideband)

I had a similar problem on my S13 a few years ago. Averaged between 270-280 for 13 gallons and plummeted to under 200 miles.
It was a ruptured rubber fuel line that connected the hard line underneath the car to the fuel filter. It would only leak while the car was on. If you're going to replace the rubber fuel lines, you might as well change them all since they will all go bad around the same time. I discovered another pin hole sized leak on another one of the lines. That alone didn't give me back the lost mileage and the only trouble codes thrown were egr, coolant temperature sensor and knock sensor. Final, the ecu gave an fuel injector code and checking the injectors with an multimeter showed 2 injectors had failed. If all your injectors are still working, you might have to take out the fuel rail and see if any of the o-rings are leaking. |

I've only gotten down to about slightly under 1/4 tank of gas, so I don't know exact miles but at that point it had 360 on the dash. If I use cruise control I can manage 31mph highway. Highest I've had is 31.6mpg. Most of the time it falls between 29-31mpg.
I'd gladly trade MPG for HP.
