Wow, this thread iss exactly why Zilvia sucks now a days.
What a bunch of absolute rubbish spewed in this thing. This ^ Fucker here has said some of the dumbest shit I've red on here in years. Fuck, I don't even have the patience anymore to go back and quote you on all the 'tardedness and correct you. If this was 5 years ago I would have had the time and you'd have 3 red squares next to your name 20 minutes later. Yes, I'm being an old cranky fucker.

Seem like your a old man thats close minded and doesnt like people on your lawn.. Go scoot some squirrels while the younger people go out and have some fun. and yes, subaru people are alot nicer. Go on Nasioc and people are more kindly to give a part of their time to give you a link of what your looking for then tell you to google it yourself. OP asks whats a better option, out of the two cars i driven and a subaru that ive personally owned.. the Subaru is the better choice. Hes asking for everyones opinion, not "I wonder what ForeignMuscle wants me to drive?" thread Quote:

Seriously, I'm confused as to why Subby vs Corvette. Totally apples and oranges. Might as well compare a Toyota Prius and a Ford F150. One can help you buy another car, and the other can tow another ar. |

Lol wow. This has became a shit fest real quick. First of all, I would NEVER buy a car for it's "prestige" or because it "picks up chicks." I don't need a car for that, I'm engaged anyway. And I would NEVER even CONSIDER buying a german car. And I really don't care about the community of owners either. It's not their car.
I liked the Corvette because it appealed to me, I don't care if old men drive it or whatever. In my honest opinion I want/wanted one because I really don't think it gets better than a car with one of the most if not -the- most reliable v8 available, a transmission that could survive an apocalypse, and it makes all this power with no turbo...no nothing...just pure NA. The reason I was considering the STI is because I am open to everything and not simple minded like most of the people in this thread....Like, I really fucking hate Mazda's but I'd still test drive one to see if I liked it before saying it sucks. etc. And yes, ForeignMuscle, I know what the mileage of the STI is, that's why I posted on here asking if it's a lot for the price. Honestly I don't really care about handling so that argument doesn't mean much to me. I mean, I want the car to be responsive and not feel like an old Cadillac, but it doesn't need to handle like it's on rails. I test drove my friends FR-S and it handles AMAZING but I really do feel like I can run faster than it.

back when i held a steady job a few years ago, i was looking at 350z, s2k, and to a lesser extent the EVO... Since I grew up around nissans, I was certain to look for a track model Z.. I never fell through with it.
Now I think the 350z looks a bit old, and the 370z's interior is a HUGE improvement in design. The late model EVO just seems cheap to me, imo its a supped economy car.

At the end of the day... drive them both which it sounds like you've done or are doing. See which one you like better over all based off of whats important to you and get that one! Both are honestly badass cars in the grand scheme of cars that someone could buy.
As to the mileage issue with the Subaru. I would recommend looking up all the maintenance that is required around that mileage (like 100K miles) and make sure the proper things have been done. Ex: timing belt, spark plugs, fluids, etc. Just basic stuff. That will give you some good insight as to whether the guy truly took car of the car or not. Same goes for the Vette. How a person maintains their car says a lot about the car. And who pissed in ForeignMuscles Cheerios! Sheesh! Watch out folks. He bought his girl a car so its important. In case you guys didn't know... He is kind of a big deal. |

You really have to come to what is really needed. I mean is this just a pure fun car? A 4 door turbo sedan and a corvette are two totally different things. 4 seater, 4 door, 4 cylinder compared to a two seater v8 purely sold on its "racing" background? I mean should I buy a minivan or a crotch rocket? As much as I would never buy a corvette, I would have to say it wins this battle if it is purely a fun, weekend, back road cruising car. Not to take away from the subaru at all. I know what they are capable of, hell I was once in the market for one myself for practical utility reasons.
There are two many variables to look at. Do you have 2 stacks of high society just chilling to throw freely and do you plan on modding? If you can buy the vette out right and still have cash to "mod" or freshen it up, i think it would be much more of a fun car. RWD, v8, can make more power than needed "if" wanted, has plenty of racing background if you decide to take it down that path. Plus you can have that v8 rumble. The whole stereo type thing is no reason to judge owning a car. Hell I watched the 240 scene blow up into this rice infested fanboy drift craze. Which resulted in watching many 240 enthusiasts sell their car because of fear of it becoming the new civic and how it would reflect their image back in the early 2000's. As long as you build it properly you always will be ahead of the "stereotype". If you truly like or care about something, you put in the extra time, money and effort. choose, build, drive what you want man. It's just that simple. If it was me, I would invest the 20 large and in 20 years when I'm a douchebag old man with small penis in my midlife crisis, I would buy a brand new 2033 corvette. lol I got jokes.

Being I've owned a multiple 240's with swaps a LS240 a 350z a Evo and c5 Z06 and C6Zo6
I'm gonna go and say hands down the best motor is any LS series Great power from the start good MPG a (c5 has better mpg then a STI) 130k miles on Sti Is a tired car if you have 20k to spend buy a fixed roof coupe for 17k and put the rest into it. A guy down the street has a blower on his unopened auto LS1. oem heads, cam, crank and has over 1000 9 second passes on his car. if its something you want to drive everyday I would not suggest the Vette |

As others have said take both for a ride and decide from there. Don't know if you're gonna daily or what kind of weather you encounter but in my area the vette is really only a weekend warrior car.
Now with me already driving a c5 and c6 zo6 I have to say they are an extremely awesome car to drive. Got a ride in a ZR already and that thing gave me full chub at 1/4 throttle. As far as the subbie I got to drive a 2012 wrx and that thing is also fun. In my opinion handles better than the the vette and the acceleration is fun but not as fun as the vette. Overall my opinion would be subbie for dd and a vette for weekend fun. |

WOW. this thread is fun lol.
anywho. a 4dr or 2 seater? ummmm completely different cars. I have a 2011 WRX and love it. STi wasnt that much greater considering I take mine camping, trails, etc. I didnt need an sti to do those things, plus i would rather build a faster WRX than spend an extra 5-8k on an sti depending if it is used or not. I would have to agree with a few people that the SUBARU community is MUCH better than the corvette community as I HAVE BEEN TO BOTH MEETS. Friend ran a C6 ZR1 and got shit from other owners because they are too fat and bald to appreciate a nice car. if you enjoy driving fast, do you want to stay on the mountain or slide off of it? Have you tried Nasioc.com? there are FAR better deals going right now. 06-07 sti with under 50k miles for 19-21k. |

you're obviously posting here because of your e-thug status, no one gives a sh!t about your opinion. to the op, if you're looking for something more practical, a sedan/5 seater will be better suited for you. you can also get a wagon/hatch for more cargo space (even more with a roof rack). if you don't care about the above, get the corvette by all means. for ~20k you have a lot of different options. |

Truth! For 20K you can get a variety of nicer cars that aren't the "norm." I personally hate seeing the same cars over and over on the road, hence why I bought my 300ZX. I've gotten more looks, compliments, and questions about my Z32 than any other car I've owned. I'm not saying you should buy a Z32, but it's one example of many that you can get for ~20k. A lot of people get so hung up on HP numbers, they forget that something doesn't have to make boring 9 second passes all day to be fun. I found a mild 400whp SR20 powered S13 to be one of the most fun of them all. Boost came on strong and early, a strong powerband and power never fell off. It was infinitely faster than the bolt on LS cars on the highway in my area. Way more fun to drive, easy to handle, and cheap to maintain. I've driven Gen4 F-Bodies, one 478whp 04 Cobra, C5s/C6s, and they just have a disconnected feeling. Something about them feels incomplete. I got out of that Cobra and into my S14 and immediately felt more connected to the road with WAY more visibility and noticeably lower center of gravity. These are just a few examples of how I gauge cars, but everyone is different. Even my Z32 vs a S chassis is an entirely different car. Drive them all, buy what you fall in love with. Period. I would never ask someone what I should or shouldn't buy, I only ask experts of each what to expect during ownership. |

I'm not sure who said it, but STi's also understeer MORE than Evos from the factory, at least any Evo with AYC. The STi's entirely mechanical AWD system grips through corners whereas an Evo, when driven hard (again with AYC) will employ a very mild controlled slide. Having been a WRX owner I will confirm that the 5MT is garbage. Get an STi with the 6MT or forget about it. Find either a C5 Z06 or a normal C5 that someone has supercharged, either can be had for $20k. A blown C5 is going to be in a different universe than an STi.

oh the internet. Where one can simply spew his or hers illogical opinions and believes it to be the ending truth with no fact or real reason.
Care to elaborate? |

Dang someone flush this shit down the toilet..
Mazdaspeed6 are chill. Nice all around car. Yes for the gf no for me tho Corvette interiors to me just seem like they were taken directly from the Tahoe or something. So basic (in a bad way). The godly motor makes up for this, but it could still come to bother me personally S2000 I've always hated!!... until i drove one. Boy were my eyes opened haha. I'd say op just test drive and shop around and find something that truly appeals to u.. Asking zilvia may have been the wrong choice lol |
