Fresh SR20DET in S13 needs some tweaking.
Hey guys, I need some ideas here if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I just finished my "budget" sr20 blacktop swap into my '90 240 hatch and after a couple of short test drives it feels like something is off. I dont know if something is hooked up wrong, if there is a leak or what. So ill post as much information as i can and please dont hesitate to ask for anything i can take pictures of or describe to help diagnose this.
First off, I bought the motor, a blacktop sr20 together with the 5sp trans and all sensors/wiring. I did the wiring myself but im fairly confident in it. I also put the battery in the trunk with 2 gauge wire, still no problems. From my gauges: Idle RPM: 750 Water Temp is about halfway between hot and cold Oil Pressure floats around 20 psi Vacuum at 12 lb Oil Temp around 130 degrees. CAS is set in the middle, not turned all the way to one side Wastegate is connected directly to a nipple from the hotpipe Boost gauge and FPR are t'd off the throttle body fitting on the pass side larger throttle body fitting goes directly to filter canister The problems i run into are something of a sputtering with the motor when i give it gas, it will rev higher in neutral but not in gear. It almost sounds like the bov isnt holding the boost so it just spills out into the intake pipe. Again thank you for any suggestions, helpful input, or thoughts from your experience, I really would like to see this thing running properly |

Run a single vacuum line from your FPR to your throttle body (should be two nipples under it...at least that's how it is on a greddy manifold, can't remember what stock looks like).
But yeah don't ever tee anything off from the FPR vacuum source. |
