My suggestion would be to at least see if the gap with all of the new rings installed is the same from piston to piston. Then cross reference your measurements with what is stated in the FSM.

in my experience, stock pistons will fail at the ring lands. I got two weeks off my reused oem pistons, went supertech after that and ive been going strong for 3 years stock rods, t28 pushing 12psi. still I have been told many times that stock pistons can handle your setup and I dont doubt that. Why not go forged? its worth it.

If you're going KA-T upgrade your pistons and ring landings AT LEAST. I blew out my ringlandings on my first or second drift event after install.
Save yourself the downtime. Do some searches. People are always selling KA pistons.

I really didnt want to but ill be going over sized with the look of fhe cylinder wall on cylinder 3. Forged it is but i just dont justify almost a grand on parts and a re-tune.20180122_152738.jpg

The amount of money and quality of your work will affect the longevity of your build. I guessing you want your build to last. Spent the money. Get the right parts and tools.

You're giving up? Pathetic. Take out a loan and sleeve that block. And stop coming up with excuses to cheap out and go another route. DO IT

I had a stock bore KA with wiseco pistons dropped in it last 3 years before the cylinders need to be bored out.
The $1,000 needed to make your ka last at 3-400whp is 1/2 of what you'll spend on an SR swap that stock vs stock is rated for the same HP internals wise. |

surely didn't spend $1000 nor was I able to successfully destroy the engine. just saying
