Always loved riddles just wondering if you guys have any good ones to share. I'll start it off with something I read on another forum.
R: There are 5 guys in a room, and a basket with 5 apples. How do you evenly distribute the apples and still have one left in the basket?

A: You give someone the basket also.

Perhaps if it read, "How do evenly distribute everything and still have one apple left." Then 4 guys have an apple, 1 guy has a basket, and 1 apple is left.

I know. Riddles are based on confusing people with the way they are said/written. Sometimes it's just blatantly dumb though.

There is a Cabin in the woods. There are two men inside. Both are dead, by injuries. Nobody entered, or left the cabin. They did not kill each other. What happened?

A man and his son are driving in a car one day, when they get into a fatal accident. The man is killed instantly. The boy is knocked unconscious, but he is still alive. He is rushed to hospital, and will need immediate surgery. The doctor enters the emergency room, looks at the boy, and says...

"I can't operate on this boy, he is my son."

How is this possible?

Here is my contribution, more of a thinking riddle than a question and answer riddle...

3 guys walk into a hotel. The receptionist tells them there is only 1 room available, and it is $30. The men each pay $10, and head up to their rooms. Later the receptionist realizes that the men were overcharged by $5, so the bellhop is instructed to take the men back their $5. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes there is no way to split $5 between 3 people, so he pockets $2 before he gets to the room, and repays the men each $1.

Now, if each man is givin back $1, that means each man payed $9. Since the 3 men payed $9 each, 9x3 = 27, so the men payed $27 dollars total. If the bellhop put $2 into his pocket, that makes the total $29, where is the missing dollar?

you die and the devil says he'll let you go to heaven if you beat him in a game. the devil sits you down at a round table. he gives himself and you a huge pile of quarters. he says "ok, we'll take turns putting quarters down, no overlapping allowed, and the quarters must rest FLAT on the table surface. the first guy who can't put a quarter down loses." you guys are about to start playing, and the devil says that he'll go first. however, at this point you immediately interject, and ask if you can go first instead. you make this interjection because you are very smart, and you know that if you go first, you can guarantee victory. explain how you can guarantee victory.

it makes perfect sense if you think about it evenly. 4 guys get an apple, and one guy gets an apple in the basket. the apples are distributed evenly (1 apple per person) and there is an apple still in the basket.

this is a little confusing but dont overcomplicate it. this is the one i remember best as a kid.

you are in a brick building with two seperate rooms and and a hallway connecting them. there is only one door leading into the hallway for each room. there are no windows or other means of exiting the rooms and you cannot see into the the other room through the walls or by opening the doors.

there are 3 light switches in one room that work 3 light bulbs in the other. how do you know what switch goes to what bulb?

*EDIT*- you can only enter the room with the bulbs once
