Even with the proper vss I think it would cost closer to 300-350. 200 without the vss. Typical cluster can go for 60-100 then people charge 80-100 for the wiring. I did this cluster swap and really like it.
Alohaworld- check FOrumshawaii I had one for sale on there. No one wanted it so it's just collecting dust now

i noticed that on the nx white plug the red/black wire is posted twice. it says

center white plug s13
s13 ~ nx
white/ blk ~ red/blk white plug

black s13 plug right side

s13 ~ NX
red/blk ~ red/blk white plug

so how does that work? do i do a triple solder?

So the NX vss is plug and play? More info needed please...
I have my '90 tranny/harness ect. and it still reads double. Anyone tried just swapping the NX pinion onto the s13 speed sensor? $40 on Courtesy Parts.

I am going to pick up my cluster today and installing it into my RB26 Vert. I will be using my Dakota Digital converters tha I already have installed in the car to convert the Speed and Tach signal. I will try and post up the Dakota Digital settings once I have them all set up.

Time to bump this up! I've done all the research possible, except looking at the nx1600 fsm. I've got mine all wired up accordingly, but the clock is not working and my oil light stays on so I must have a crossed a wire somewhere. I'm using a single cam cluster harness which I'm thinking may have been the problem and if so I have a dual cam harness and a digi harness that i will wire in instead. My nx1600 cluster is from a 92. Does anyone have any info they would like to share to help me find out what I may need to do? Thanks

Sean.

sohc and dohc s13 cluster harnesses should be the same... the HUD harness is not the same.

I figured. If the s13 harness is the same for kae and kade, then the nx1600 cluster wiring is a bit different? Something is not colored right, cus i've looked over it about 15 times trying to figure it out. Have any of you got one out of a 92 working properly?

I have... and you need to go by pinout not wire colors...
there are 4 different clusters and the wires do vary in color somewhat depending on model and year...
just go over your fsm wireing diagrams and you will find it

update: everything on the cluster functions properly, besides the speed still reading double. I've tried the single cam VSS and the nx1600 VSS but they do not fit in the hole where the dohc speed sensor sits. Ive tried taking the pinion off and swapping it, but that one is much bigger too. What VSS's are you guys using?

Would it be possible to use a dakota digital speed translator to get the speed right?

guys, it all depends on the NX cluster you get, 91-94 there were 2 gens of clusters, and of those, there were 5 spd, and auto. only 1 of the clusters will work with the stock speedo.

I know this is a old thread but i'm so confused. You said green wire goes to blue and yellow wire from black and yellow plug. On my nx1600 cluster it has 3 yellow wires one from each plug and the yellow wires are connected into 1 yellow wire. So do I eliminate the other 2 yellow wires from the other plugs?
