Intake question

One of the rubber boots is ripped on my ka-e intake. It’s the rubber boot that connects the “air cleaner”, which is the part of the intake after the throttle body, to the intake itself. Either way I’m looking to grab an aftermarket intake pipe. My question is, how restrictive is the oem airbox? I currently have a k&n filter in my airbox and removed the resonator to allow the airbox to get air a little quicker. Do I keep the airbox or grab a cone filter? For a full intake or pipe alone, what should I look at getting? Not looking to spend too much since it’s just a stock ka-e just want to get a little bit better airflow

To be honest I think a K&N drop in filter with the resonator delete like you did is the best way. Those "cone" air filters are overrated on an N/A car. I would just replace the leaky pipe and keep driving

FYI aftermarket intakes on the KA engines don't make any more power or torque and the OEM intake is actually better.

You’re saying the OEM plastic pipe is better than an aftermarket pipe? In what way is it better? Was just gonna pick up a cheap eBay intake and use the pipe from it.
