S14 Airbag System Question
ok so i was in a wreck a few months back in my 95 se and the airbags deployed. Ive replaced all the parts of the system (including the airbag computer module). They were used parts but seemed to be in good condition. My airbag light is blinking now when i start the car and stays blinking (i think before i replaced everything it just stayed on, no blinking). My question is, do i have the reset the cars computer in order to clear the system and make the light go away. Or does it automatically reset and i have a faulty piece of my puzzle? Please help me out im ready to drive my car again lol.
EDIT-Only parts of the airbag system are the two airbags and the module under the rear seats correct??? Last edited by Zellner; 03-15-2010 at 09:09 AM.. |

No, you reset the airbag computer. The ECU has nothing to do with the airbag system.
There's several threads on how to do it already, if you'd searched for it you wouldn't have needed to start a new thread.

i searched and just found one thread. i reset or put it in diagnostic mode (opened the door, turned key on then pressed the door button seven times in five seconds, i didnt turn the car back off though. does that matter?)it now it comes on for 2.5-3 seconds then follows with a series of seven blinks? any idea on that code??

If you look it up in the FSM it will tell you what the code means. Try resetting it again to clear the codes. It may just be reporting all good.

Do the procedure again to reset it. If the code comes back on, I think that's the control unit code. I can look at my FSM later today.
