Question Transmission Crossmember Bolt Issue

During my SR swap my bonehead friends that were assisting me didn't bag and tag my crossmember bolts and now they are missing.

I've borrowed my friends bolts to only find out they are to small. I've tried 2 different sets of bolts from 2 different s13's and both of them are to small.

My question is, are the crossmember bolts on the coupe and the fastback different?

If so does anyone have the bolt sizes?

This is the only thing keeping me from finishing my SR swap.

-IK

[edit]
I took a closer look and tried the coupe bolts in the passenger side bolt holes and they fit, that means that one of the holes in my drivers side is stripped out or to large (The other hole on the drivers side the bolt broke off inside so i have to get it removed).

If all goes to plan i'll get the stripped hole re-threaded and once the broken bolt comes out of the other it'll fit the standard bolts.

you might want to be really carefull if you're going to retap one of those holes. i believe its just a nut welded into a sheet metal bracket

ive also had some problems with those bolts not seeming to fit but im almost 100% sure there is no difference from coupe to fastback.

good luck

The bolts from the front seats fit perfect, just an FYI. If you are tapping, as mentioned go slow and easy. The weld nuts will break loose from the top and then you're really fucked.

Well i picked up some heli-coil inserts at a slightly larger size and 4 new bolts (just incase). I am going to attempt to retap tomorrow on the stripped out nut. Also picked up a drill bit + extraction kit for the broken bolt.

So tomorrow the plans are removal of broken bolt, and retap of stripped nut. If all goes according to plan i will have this thing fixed and ready to run tomorrow evening.

And if this happens i'll just cut a small hole in the side of the frame and just put new nuts on all the bolts... If i do it right it shouldn't effect the structural integrity of the beams.

That still won't solve the crossmember bolt issue. That would be fine if he had stripped the carrier bearing mounting bolts/holes.

Use the 14's from the seats, seat belts,if ur stripped the rear use the 14's from the rear seat belts,if u put some kind of harness use the 14's from the auto belt loader... Those work greatly.. I just used a couple 14's for my drive shaft
