what engine?
how long have you owned it? seriously need more info. Just shut off, or stalled out slowly (seemed to want to die, but didnt die, ... and then it died). You saying the lights work is a hint. If the electrical of the car is working fine, then your next simple explanation is related to the maf, or fuel pump |

Stalled out slowly Maf? When it stalled out the first time it died and then I turned it on right away and the second time it stalled out slowly after that I turned on once more and reversed to my garage and hasn't turned on The car was sitting for about year |

just throwing ideas out there from lacking info. does the starter even make an attempt to click? jump start the car? how's the battery? charge the battery up and clean the battery terminals. and also..check condition of oil.

car doesn't crank...check starter to see if it works. get it tested or jump the solenoid to see if it even works. or take it out and get it tested.

Idle Air Control Valve, it's on the passenger side of the engine, stupid close to the firewall. It's a pain in the ass to get off yourself, but doable. And it's way easier putting the new one on.
