Those crazy kids.
It all started in 2005 when I saw a red AE86 with a JDM spolier upon buying it turned out to be a 1986 S12.
had the S12 for 5 years and could nto keep it, did a KA24E swap and all sorts of unfinished things. bought a 2+2 N/A Z31, sold for mustang. mustant lasted 3 FUCKING MONTHS! what a piece of shit ford never again. sold for a Z31 turbo which i bought all sorts of goodies for it... ended up getting rear ended. so 2011: I'm without a car insurance cashes out and gives me 4,000 for my old Z31. it worked out. I found a Z31 in tampa which was screaming my name, blown head gasket it had and 294k on the clock. I pulled the motor rebuilt it and threw it in (long story short) So I bought it for $700 and a 3 hour drive home, enough talk I'm sure everyone want's to see pictures. the Z31 is getting a compound turbo RB20
[/img]http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/558742_458993770845067_348617635_n.jpg[/img] the RB20 had a cometic head gasket, ARP headstuds, ACL main and rod bearings and it looks like newish nissan pistons. re gasket the RB20 and put it back together. This is going to be a E85 RB20 only it needs to be for the compound turbos. this is how a RB sits in a Z31. I blew my T-5 in the Z31 ALL DAAAT TORQUE! 1st feels bent? wont go into 1st but feels like it's there, no 2nd, no 3rd, no 5th, no reverse only 4th gear is available. so I'll either end up swapping the engine/trans to throw the RB20 in, not sure how long this would take. and then wiring it up as well. RB is finished anyway. Destroyed my T-5 trans, counter shaft is stripped too. |

I switched to a 71C for the Z31 and it is a way smoother transmission shifts are amazing. running redline MT-90 and a hint of gear mesh, feels butter smooth.
the hub springs for 3rd/4th gear collapsed, when going from 1st to 2nd in went into 3rd somehow locked the trans at full load and stripped 4th gear input and 4th counter shaft no gears only had 4th and it's a direct drive gear. |
