I always thought that clutches were based on TQ not HP. There's a lot of reputable ones out there. Seaching is key...Exedy, ACT, Competition, OS Giken. But if you're not willing to spend a lot, I guess Spec is your answer, although I've heard some mixed reviews about them.

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you just want a badass street car go with spec. Stock feel grabs pretty good. If you want something with more bite go ACT or Exedy. Stay away from comp clutches they are crap IMO. Like everyone said its all about you and how you drive. Take some time and look at what you will be doing and how much TQ you are gonna make and go from there.

GT35 turbo? Shit will be barely spooling to put down 300hp. I made 500hp on it with an SR. Clutch I was using was an OS Giken TS2B.

Because people are cheap Sileighty. They want good products at a cheap price, unfortunately that's not how it works. Send the clutch back along with the GT35 and buy products that are Quality, not knock-off shit.

RPS, Exedy, ORC, OS Giken, etc, the list goes on of good clutches. You'll hate your response and driveability with that turbo, get a GT2871r, supporting mods and call it a day.

Eh, he'll be alright, he's only shooting for 300. If he makes over that (which he will), that clutch will spit out its rivets out or the pressure plate will literally fall apart.

even still, That would scare the shit out of me if I were to drift that or operate it under High RPMs. If that thing grenaded around 6K RPM's id be worried for my legs unless i had a scatter shield.

I know it would destroy the bellhousing but not sure if it would make it past the tunnel but wouldnt wanna try to find out.

LMFAO, not only did you buy one the shittiest Chinese clutches made, you wasted money on a Chinese turbo kit. Obviously your just buying shit based upon what you want. 1st off a GT35 a real one is rated at 400+ for 250-300 you should have kept the stock T25 and ran 12psi and yielded 250-280hp. A GT35 won't even begin to spool at the numbers your wanting all your going to get is lag and watch your car fall on its face.

You wasted money on that shitty clutch and that god awful "turbo kit" the only thing remotely of value in that "kit" is a intercooler and pipes and even then it's terrible quality and most of the time bad fitment.

ok i said 300 bc i dont know what it will actually hold up to being a bone stock motor. im looking to put more down than that but i figured i would have to have supporting motor mods. which is why i have another ka sitting in the garage. (since were on the subject i guess someone can help me out on what to do to the motor) but thanks to all for telling me which clutch to buy now i will know for when this one goes to shit.

It will make 400+

If you want 300go for something small like a t28. A 35r will make 500 with the right setup

You're doing it wrong. And yes, people actually run these because they're proven to work and not blow up after 20 miles.

I think the title of this thread should be "Which will fail first, my ebay clutch or turbo kit?" It's funny how kids ask which parts are good, then just go buy ebay junk.

If it is infact a real Garrett GT35r, it is quality. I said sell it because that turbo is capable of more than 550hp. You can't do that on a stock bottomend, it has been done, but they don't last long and based on this post, you don't have the knowledge or capability to reach that power level yet.

Yes, people run 2-3000 dollar clutches. I have a 2k clutch behind my motor

In short, buy a turbo closer to 300hp level goal. Sell the clutch or return to vendor and get a real one.

You are not reading peoples responses, are you?

If not, you're SURELY not comprehending them.

You have entirely too much turbo for what you want to do with it. Sell the turbo, buy a smaller one like a T25 or T28 (both have been suggested). With the money you have left over, buy a clutch with better reviews than the one you have.
If that is not clear enough for you to understand, I strongly suggest you either sit down one weekend, search and read to try and grasp what you have gotten yourself into or just sell your whole car before it ruins your life.

Stop right there.... Seriously your expecting a 20 year old bone stock motor to hold up to over 300hp?

ppl will say yeah man my KA is running over 300, but it will be short lived depending on how hard they boost it. The pistons will eventually melt

EDIT: did'nt see this until now

I have what you refer to as the Outrageously expensive baller clutch : Twin Plate OS Giken, Unfortunatly they dont make one for KA's. Not really familiar with KA brand clutches. but def wont buy something cheap that rotates up to 7,000 RPM's next to my feet

you need a proven quality clutch. this is where searching come into play.
