Digital Cluster replacement
So I have this digital cluster, but I'm not so much a fan of it. I have another cluster to replace it. What I'm wondering is, will I be able to just remove and replace?
The car had came with the cluster and I'm not entirely sure what would need to go with the cluster besides the spliced sub harness. As far as I know, the speed sensor and temp sensor have to do with it as well, but not entirely sure. Been told that in some cases, using this cluster, I would have to change the sensors. In other cases, I don't need to. If someone could help me out and elaborate on how to distinguish whether or not I would need to replace the sensors when I replace the cluster, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time, miLes. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444763001.395259.jpg

The only thing that needs to be replaced is the subharness and the subharness only.
And the subharness is NOT SPLICED. So no need to go cutting shit up. Just reach your fat/skinny hand back there and unplug it. It's an easy job, it shouldn't take you more than an hour, (you sound a little inexperienced so I'm giving you an extra 30 minutes. No offense).

Lol none taken and yes, inexperienced. I was going off of research and kind of reversing the installation process. Read a write up that the sub harness had to be spliced in order for the cluster to work properly. Thank you for the response though.

Yea, if you were doing a Maxima digital cluster or the NX, shit would need to be spliced. But the s13 digital, it's plug and play 100%

Holy shit bro, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize that you had a picture in your opening thread because it is so small. I overlooked when you mentioned that you wanted to replace one digital cluster for another digital cluster. I was thinking an analog.
Forget everything that I said previously then. Yea, it needs to be spliced up. I'm not sure about the other things. It's been a while since I've read any write-ups about cluster swaps. I do know that I once came across a pretty damn well write-up. I'll see if I book marked it.
