Speedo and Tach not working..

Hey there all,

I just picked up a 1990 240sx, its been swapped with a rb25 in addition it has the drivetrain, ecu ( duh ) and the rear end. There are other mods but I'll get to that when the time comes. My main question is I want to get the speedo and the tach to work. I understand that I need new sensors but I dont know where to get them and what Im looking to spend on them.

If this a n00b question then forgive me, Im slightly new to Nissans normally Im a DSM guy, but I couldnt pass up this oppertunity.

Thanks in advance,
Terry

You're a noob with a rb25det? drive carefully, very carefully.

Tach- You have a single cam, thats an issue even with SR motors. You need a DOHC cluster, 91+

Speedo - The signal does not show up correctly, even if you use the RB25det sensor spliced with a ka connector or however its wired up. You need a resistor, i forgot what the name of the place is, but it correctly "recalibrates" the gauges for like 100+ some odd piece. Otherwise you can try wiring in resistors. Other option is to get some aftermarket gauge.

Please, don't be noobish and crash this thing. No offnse, but i've seen one too many noobs with a car and a lot of power get into trouble. Good luck buddy.

Thanks for the advice, I've been driving quite a few RWD cars as of late but I dont drift or whatever you guys call it . Mainly this car will just be a fun car for me to tinker on and drag race. The shop that I use to take my Talon to had this car laying around for about a year, I assisted on installing the RB motor and doing little wiring job here and there. I have a few people around the STL area to do 240s so I'll go to them about getting this cluster and what not.
