I took my '96 240 in last thursday for an inspection and it failed because the rotors needed to be replaced and the front pads needed to be changed. I bought 4 new rotors and new ront pads and put them all on this weekend as well as a new outer tie rod end on the fr right that was screwed. Now after putting all the new parts on I have a bad vibration when I brake from any decent speed. It feels like their isn't a constant connection between the pads and rotors. Any one have any ideas on this. I need to take it back to finish the inspection and it won't pass like this. Thanks for any help.

the alignments probably off as well. maybe even t/c rods are gone.

if you replaced the tie rod the alignment is probably off

Alignment will not cause a vibration...Some worn suspension parts, cheap rotors, wheel bearings, thickness variation or radial runout could be the cause.

lol yes a poor alignment will cause vibration. If your front tie rods are not aligned there will be a feeling in the wheel. He said he replaced the front tie rod end, have you gotten a alignment? if not i would go and get some to make sure the wheels are straight.

It wont be the pads, pads normally almost rest on the rotor. Check the t/c rods first. If the bushings are cracked get a new set.

agreed with above poster...bad alignement will cause vibration, and certain problems are accentuated during braking(more load on front during braking).
