ok my clutch is engaging like 1.5" or so off the floor pan (booooo!

now i looked at my clutch fluid level and its ABOVE max (dunno if it was filled up too much or not) and I don't have problems with it slipping. it engages in the same manner as before, and it doesn't slip even at higher speeds.

so i'm wondering wtf is goin on. if its just the clutch dieing then i guess i gotta get a new clutch. and on that note, what do people think of the centerforce dual friction for the ka? eh? eH?!

my clutch pedal started engaging higher and slipping a bit off of hard/ fast shifts (namely the 1 - 2 shift), but after a bit of time it's gotten better for some reason and now it's not chattering much or slipping at all.... very weird if you ask me.
if it's not slipping then it's probably fine, but be more aware of any slippage at all, as once it DOES start slipping, it deteriorates pretty rapidly
i'd wonder if maybe there's something wrong with your clutch engagement if the fluid has been backed into the resivoir though.

I've heard better things about ACT clutches compared to Centerforce.... but I've got a SPEC waiting to go in.

it doesn't engage higher tho, it engages almost at the floor pan.

see i'm not positive if the dealer overfilled the resevoir, or it got backed up. its really wierd right? if the master/slave cylinder weren't working right and caused this, then my clutch shouldn't be working at all right?

engages as in is fully engaged at the floor pan??

I'd rather have the clutch engage lower than higher... it'd mean you have more clutch material

When mine was engaging too low after i did the clutch matster and slave cyl, i just adjusted where the master attatches to the clutch pedal. I just pulled the shaft further out of the clutch master to make it engage a little higher and now it's fine. What did you have done at the dealership?

i've had the centerforce dual friction clutch for a couple of years now, and i've had no problems whatsoever with it.

ok i don't quite understand how having the point at which it engages lower to the floor would mean that i have more clutch material since this happend recently, and it wasn't like that before.

ok since i'm not sure if you mean by "engage" lets change the wording to friction point. it is close to the floor. so if i push the clutch all the way to the floor, the clutch is "not engaged" since i can rev my engine and not move anywhere what so ever. so about 1.5 inches from the floorpan, the clutch starts grabbing (ie thats the friction point) and begins engaging. it really worries me. i think i'm going to take it to the dealer and see what they say since their estimates are free.

i went to the dealer today and they wanted me to cough up a $75 diagnostic fee! those rat bastards!!!!

in anycase the manager guy i tlaked to told me it could be just about "anything" which doesn't sound good. but then he was like it could be just a bubble in the system and that they would bleed it for me for the diagnostic fee. and i was like WHAT! so i figure i should bleed the system myself for the price of fluid. i lost my FSM so could anyone tell me how i can do it? i would be using rhino ramps to get my car up. anyone wanna post up/send me some scans of the fsm or put up directions on how to do it for a '93 s13?
