Hey,

Is there anyone using Fender Braces on his S13 ? And do you feel that they are worth the money? They are about 200 - 300 dollar, and I was thinking of making some myself (And selling probably), but only if they are worth the extra expense for some people...

Ciao,

not necessary
its nice but definately NOT necessary
i know some folks w them said its a noticeble differenc ebut can life w/o it

i would spend the money on tires and track ffees
people do overkill on the suspension too often
drive what you got

worth as much money as a nismo power brace

should be about to find the tanabes for under $200 easy..like $175

I have them, slightly noticeable difference, front feels a little more solid, but kind of more of an impulse buy for me instead of thinking they were a badass upgrade.

The A pillar-Front wheel wells is one of the flexiest parts of an s13, how could it not be a good idea?

I don't think anyone said it would be a bad idea. It sounds to me like it just doesn't make that much of a difference for the money...

DIY chassis bracing.

I've got 2 DIY chassis bars, and they rule!

C pillar, and seat pillar (where the rear seats should be)

Care to explain how you went about making DIY chassis bars? :wavey:

That was my thought exactly,
I'm definatly not going to spend 200dollars on a couple of fender braces, i'll just make them myself for way less then that :)

I'll take some pictures, its pretty damn self explainitory, without even explaining!

You look at it and say "wtf, thats EASY as hell!"

You do it, it comes out nice. Just know how to lay down solid lines whilst welding.

And being as S13s are pretty much held together with chassis glue (i like to call it chasstiff) it'll get rid of alot on slop and roll. Or your money back. Out of your own pocket.

Yup.

Cheap and effective, for the most part.

They're worth both the money the time. If you buy them, it's worth it. If you make them, it's worth it.

Without chassis stiffness, your suspension is inefficient. Any noticeable increase in chassis stiffness under $300 is a bargain.

sometimes, when i can, i use them as leverage.

kinda like everyday breakerbars that doubleup as pillar bars.

Worth every penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half-quarter, and dollarcoin. All 20bucks of em.

SPLPARTS.COM FTW. http://splparts.com/Parts/Universal/Suspension/Bracing/SPLFenderBrace.jpg

$253 I wanted to get them, but my friends talked me out of it.

Its nice to have, but do you REALLLY need bracing that bad?

"You can never have too much bracing"

Yes, you can. ANd then your car isn't a car anymore, its a freaking rollercoaster/jungle gym.

I personally wouldn't consider using them unless I had a rollcage that didn't link up to my strut towers.
