ya know we thought about throwing one of those in my buddies fc3s before he got it rebuilt at banzai racing in indiana (chris does good work by the way)
i felt is was way better than throwing a GM or chevy domestic in it because it made me feel dirty
because i am a nissan whore and i repsct the rx-7 to much :)

How to make an RX-7 reliable?
You can't. :2f2f:
Unless you put a Nissan heart into it. :fawkd:
Keep us updated on that though. Looks nice!

"I'm bored."
"Yea, me too."
"I know, we'll throw in that spare SR20 into the FC in the garage."
"Cool, let's go."

People done did that already.
Also
The correct way of making a RX7 reliable is V8.
But interesting nonetheless.

Any plans to make a swap kit for the sr in a fd? I love the shape of that car since it first came out and could always look for one with a buster engine and swap in my sr :)
Yes, I know this has been done. I like what you did with the fc though they are nice cars as well.

Our FD arrives tomorrow morning to start on the SR kit....We will be offering a kit for both the FC, and FD...not to mention our v8swap package for the FC, and FD...and here is a hint...it ain't a chevy motor...I'll keep ya updated with the new motors arrive for the swaps...should be tasty wrapping out to a 7500 rpm in a v8...we'll see

i know what the special motor is...sign me up marc, i've got a nice donor car that needs a motor, bad...the car's bleeding like a hemophiliac.
Hi, I am new to the nissan community. I am an rx7 owner but I am getting out of the rotary engines and such. I plan on putting an SR20 into my FC. Anyone with any kind of knowledge about such a swap would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Although the rotary isn't so reliable, an rx7 isn't an rx7 w/o it. It's just the way it is. It's like a hachiroku with a rotary in it, although it's fast, it's not the way it's supposed to be. You want an rx7. you need to be able to maintain it if you want it, otherwise, look for a different car.
Btw, the image link is broken, upload with imageshack.us

If the old school draggers thought like you back in the day, drag racing would not have been invented.

stop being so nostalgic or whatever. use the best parts you can afford. sometimes when you have money you can afford a car with good underlying handling and put a beast motor in it. who cares if it's not the stock motor. who cares if it's a different manufacturer. who cares if it's not from the same country. it's better than what it was before and that's the bottom line.
