I just wanted to know if anyone had done it or if it was possible. As in parts needed not costing as much as the car. I just figured that it would be even more moddable than an sr with a lot more power on tap. I have heard that it should bolt right in but the person I talked to didn't know the extras involved. Any comments, thoughts, suggestions. The money is not the issue.

Well the other day i got the chance to see an S14 with the RB25DET swapped into it. it was beautiful. But from what the owner told me (which makes sense). You dont want to have the RB in a daily driven car, its just to hard to deal with getting parts. There will be way more down time if something breaks, way worse than the SR. But if its not gonna be your daily driver i say go for it. And I hear the weight gain up front is not to bad at all, almost close to stock with a few weight reduction mods like Carbon hood and such. Also the intake mani snakes over the top of the engine, which requires you to notch the hood bracing in the middle. But I hear Greddy makes a mani that places it straight forward which fixes that prob, as well as adding HP <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> .
The engine does fit, and I was told the wiring is not that hard.
I hope this helps ya out. If you have anymore questions and are serious about doing this I might be able to give you the email address of the guy who has done it.

yeah, from What ive Heard ( wich i do not credit as being 100 percent accurate) that it is possible, but there is also the concern that if i remember correctly, it will not smog, the parts are outrageous, and you have to Ship them all from japan (if you are not there already, that will be Spendy) and i think there are a few modifications that need to be done to the engine bay also, as for the "parts needed not costing as much as the car" only if you have like a Great uncle that actualy owns a shop in japan, the parts will be MUCH more then the average cost of a 240SX, unless your talking a really really new one with less then like 1 mile on it, for the money and time investment, the Blacktop S-15 with the s-14 tranny would be the way to go, thats what im looking at doing, the RB25DET would be an awesome swap for say a Drag car, but not economical for a daily Driver, but then again, that is also my personal opinion, if you got the money, and a spare car while yours is Down , by all means do it, and post picts and the whatnot,
you may want to try unstable-hybrids.com
they do that kind of stuff, and they might have Info on it, and they know there stuff, if they say its possible, then it is, its just a matter of how much $$$$$ you wanna fork out.

i've seen it done on a s14, and i've heard of it done on a s13. but i was told it has really high compression ration 11.0:1? or somthing around there, and it is suggested somthing like 102 octang, which does not exist around my neghborhood... so this w/ the s14 just pours octang booster in there... i bet he really POURS to get it around 102...

hmmm how much power could you get out of the RB25? as compared to an s15 engine? oh and to the guy thatt said he wanted an s14 tranny on a s15 engine...why would you ot just use the s15 tranny? thanx

S15 tranny is 6-speed and the 5spd is generally more desirable because the 6th gear is mainly just a cruising gear.

ok but if i got the 6-speed would that actually detract from performance in any way?

If I understand correctly, because it has the 6th gear, the ratio of all of the other gears is different as well, which makes for a slower car. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

in theory, if you have a 6th gear you can make all the other gears shorter, actually improving performance
i think people want the S14 tranny because it is stronger and has better shift feel than the 6sp
Not to mention the $ factor.
my reasons for the 5 speed instead of the 6 are
1) the 5 is supposedly a much Stronger ( as in gear str. not gear ratio) tranny, less wear and tear.
2)cost,
3)ive never liked 6 spds, at night i cant ever find 6th because i cant remember were reverse is! ( ive only driven a 6 spd twice.
