i just installed a tanabe sustec front strut bar, nismo powerbrace, and fatty uras tension rods simultaneously...at first, my wheel and tire specs were messed up...i was running 16"/15", 245/50/16 and 205/45/15, and not balanced (borrowed from a friend waiting for tires to be put on)...
so the first test drive with the aforementioned specs was relativeley good...very tight front end and responsive steering...but when i got on the highway, the second the needle pasted 60mph, it shook VERY violently...i mean to the point where i couldnt drive...so my friend and i assumed that since the wheels were not balanced, now the vibrations were traveling from the knuckle->tc rods->powerbrace->straight to the chassis...meaning theres no more give and transfer of force to chassis is no longer being loss in bushings and deflection...opposed to the bushings and weak stock tc rod brackets taking all the motion...
okay, no big deal...so i slap on my other wheels which are 16x7 with stock 205/55/16...just mounted tires on all four and balanced...it was okay for the first day, but sometimes it still does the shaking...last night on the highway it would shake every now and then...and i mean hard...imagine my toolset in my pass. seat, it sounded like a ton of marbles in those cookie tins...but now, it shakes at higher speeds e.g. 65-70mph...
it almost feels like the motion builds up and finally shakes the whole front end of the car at higher speeds...and once the motion is enough, it continues to shake regardless of driver input...you have to let off the gas and wait for the momentum to slow down...you can feel it coming...sorry for the long post, but i want to get to the bottom of it...i must also mention that my alignment is really off...no, like REALLY off!...is it an alignment issue? or something else? ive never heard/read anything about front end susp. pieces causing such problems...was it the choice in tc rods? too thick maybe? any help would be greatly appreciated...tia
